Screening Room: Animation & Aardman 00:34am on 20 Nov 2009 Hallas and Bachelor's wonderful Animal Farm was one we watched and watched again -my children loved it, dark though it is at times. I loved the original 101 Dalmatians as the first film I ever saw in the cinema, even though it Americanised everything. For me, the stand-out scene in Mary Poppins is David Tomlinson singing 'Let's Go Fly A Kite'. Just humming it lifts my spirits.
Your pictures of the week: Orange 6:18pm on 14 Sep 2009 Carmela and Jeannie are superbly sweet guinea pigs, what intelligent little faces they have! Orange doesn't necessarily come to mind when you look at them, but what the heck, cute cavies are always a winner.
Ivan's death 10:31pm on 25 Feb 2009 Truly heart-rending news. I wish the Cameron family strength and comfort. For six years every little interaction that Ivan made with his loved ones will have been celebrated, each smile counting more than one could believe. Ivan was loved for himself, totally and unconditionally.

What doesn't break us, makes us and I have no doubt that Ivan played a large part in shaping David Cameron's personal political philosophy and in making him the man he now is. I may not share his viewpoint, but this is a time when acts of basic humanity should be at the forefront of our thoughts.

Thank you Nick for reminding us that some things are far, far bigger than any political argument.
It's getting better, he's getting stro-o-o-o-o-nger ! 6:18pm on 11 Feb 2009 Oh Noah, what a little smasher you are! Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but all babies are born with dark eyes, not necessarily blue, especially if they are overdue. My daughter's were very dark brown and still are, 30 years later.

I sang Brown Eyed Girl to my daughter, and it's the one Van Morrison song she really likes. My son got the arguably less cool You Are My Sunshine...

Back in the black. 5:55pm on 29 Jan 2009 Hello all from a sporadic,

8lb 4oz guess on the baby weight. Haven't a clue when. Twenty-six years ago I got myself going with a very bumpy, very long bus journey when I was four days overdue with Child No 2. I can't see that being an option at Chez Evans though.

Good news on the listening figures, but no wonder when the show is so enjoyable.

I was looking forward to seeing the doggy pics, particularly Biscuit the winner, but can't find them- have they been removed? It's probably just me.

I'm very fond of the name Biscuit for a pet, I had a lovely golden hamster of that name some 12 years ago. I took the name Biscuit from a hamster that the wonderful John Peel owned in the 60s. A name with a fine rock and roll pedigree, then.

I have a Top Tenuous with Rob Brydon - when I was a little girl I was on a TV show filmed at the same studios that he used when he worked in Wales... I never seem get through with the Tenuous' so I'll post it here.

Magic moments 02:08am on 19 Sep 2008 I adore all sport - but these Paralympics rank as the most enjoyable I have seen. My favoured moments were firstly Simon Laurens laughing and crying on the podium as he got his paradressage team gold and the expression on team-mate Lee Pearson's face.

But most of all, it was Dave Roberts' Ayatollah in the pool after his 50m S7 freestyle win that equalled Dame Tanni's score of 11 golds. The ecstatic response of his family and friends. The expression on Dave's face said "I did it; and I did it for you." In his attitude Dave is totally professional, and more than any other athlete, this epitomises the fact that Paralympians are elite athletes, focused and prepared to sacrifice so much for their sports.
Athletics needs to take action 5:57pm on 17 Sep 2008 The rest of the world certainly is pushing on - and what a good thing too. It means that disabled athletes across the globe are receiving the training they require to gain elite status, and recognition that an elite athlete is an elite athlete, disabled or non disabled.

Thanks so much to the BBC and all commentators and summarisers for truly fantastic coverage. Commentaries and interviews to match the performances, and stories that engaged us.

Finally, sincerest thanks to all athletes of all sports for holding us enthralled for the last few weeks. It's been wonderful- you have been wonderful. I sincerely hope that we will hear of you again long before 2012.... and to Dave Roberts -16 golds? You can do it, Dave!
