What's wrong with football? Blame women! 6:32pm on 26 Nov 2009 willweird - I'm not sure, to be honest. What I can say is that the Football League are pretty serious about their survey. They are very keen to listen to what fans have to say.

boomshakalak - Thanks. The technology issue just rolls on and on. Everybody seems to be in favour of it these days but the people who run football are not really known for the speed at which they introduce new innovations.

I'd love to see an experiment with sin bins in the Football League. It sounds a touch crazy but has really worked in rugby league.

What's wrong with football? Blame women! 1:52pm on 26 Nov 2009 Deats80 - I think it would be wrong of you to say the Football League is not interested in listening to what fans think. I honestly don't think they would bother with the survey if they had no interest in the results.

You're right to say that there is a limit to what they can introduce as a consequence of the results with regard to changes in the law but plenty of the stuff about what fans want from their matchday experience is relevant.

Previous surveys influenced the decision to introduce a smoke free policy at games as well as the decision to publish agents fees.

Milesflash - I agree that it costs a lot of money to watch football. A friend came to visit the other day and we went to watch his team - Bristol Rovers - at Charlton. I wasn't thrilled at shelling out £25. Though the fact I saw six goals did help! I'm not sure that is going to change in the near future.

I watched the game against Wycombe on TV recently and saw all too clearly Town's attacking threat but about people like Alex Smithies, who I hear is very highly rated?

Deats80 - Bit harsh to blame Steve Black for Wilkinson's injuries. I think Blackie's role with him is more to do with the mental side.

Lee Clarks Barmy Army - I guess that one of the risks of using so many young players, namely that they lack experience of nitty-gritty situations. Then again, they might play without fear and not be as vulnerable to pressure.

Will all Town fans be buying their Christmas cards from one particular supplier?

Thanks for your comments. I'd like to know whether Town fans - or indeed supporters of any club - think the Terriers will win promotion this season. If not, then who?

Clark doesn't waste words when you interview him, he sounds like a man who has things to be getting on with. But I have been very impressed with his buying policy so far and he has assembled an experienced backroom team, which I think is always a shrewd move for a young manager in his first job.

Jonathan - I'm not going to make any friends saying this but I do think you are being harsh on the Football League. Bournemouth are an interesting example. Plenty of people feel they have been unfairly treated. But have a browse around the internet and you might find a few examples of fans/managers at other clubs suggesting the Cherries should have been more severely punished.

Yes, the Football League have got plenty wrong but they definitely have a thankless task.

Howe does Eddie do it at Bournemouth? 1:50pm on 19 Nov 2009 Andrew (posts 7 and 11) - not a Boro fan by any chance? That would explain the rather downbeat feel to your posts. I'm off to watch your match at Peterborough soon. Wonder if Strachan will have picked up any points by then?

Tom (post 6) - I'm not sure I've seen enough League Two teams often enough to make any solid predictions. Put it this way, I certainly wouldn't part with any money.

What I would say is that I have been very impressed with the way the Daggers have coped after losing a couple of key players to Brentford.

You cannot argue with Howe's exploits at Bournemouth so far but I do worry his lack of squad size could yet catch up with him.

Rochdale fell short at the end of last season but Keith Hill is doing a cracking job there. Part of me thinks their fans due some good fortune.

There are a few others - the likes of Bury, Chesterfield etc - who remain in the hunt.

And then there is County..............
What England must do to beat Australia 09:03am on 16 Nov 2009 Well, I guess we have our answer now.

I thought there was a lot to enjoy about the final. For an hour it was a physical and brutal contest worthy of a big match. Then it all changed. I guess we can do nothing but admire the way the Kangaroos finished the tournament in such truly destructive style.

From England's point of view it was a crushingly disappointing end but, looking at the bigger picture, I thought the team showed plenty of potential that they can look to build upon.

They just need to find a coach now!
