England get luck of the draw 9:29pm on 04 Dec 2009 England will not win the WC, we are a top 8 nation at best and reaching the quarter finals should be our target. Although the draw is kind, getting any further then the qf would be great.

The Steven Gerrard conundrum will be the undoing of England, I suggest dropping him on the bench to become an impact player or alternatively play him at right back and there's the problem there sorted as Johnson isn't good enough defensively and Brown is prone to mistakes.
Adebayor madness mars Man City win 11:14am on 13 Sep 2009 Isn't it typical of Arsenal fans who on many occasions can "give it" yet when they are on the receiving end they cant take it. Probably the only bunch of fans who boo their own at home & away and don't forget how often they leave a match early when losing.

A great 2nd half that showed great emotions in which Arsenal fans will come to regret their treatment of Adebayor when they see City pinch their 4th place spot because of his goals. Poetic Justice.
Benitez and O'Neill on the offensive 10:52am on 25 Aug 2009 Liverpool will not finish in top 4 this season. The biggest mistake that Pool's board made was to reward Rafa with a lengthy contract for failing to win a trophy in 3 years. He wont leave on his own accord he'll have to be dismissed and that will cost Pool money they cant afford.

After 5 seasons and spending more money then Man Utd he hasn't won as many trophies as them, still doesn't have a squad (how much money wasted on flop signings) to compete on all fronts and the Kop still love him? Why? IS it something in the water up there? He's the sole reason why Steven Gerrard will never win the Premier League whilst he's in charge. In a few years time people will look back and say it was a disaster with him in charge and that they blew the best chance to win the league because he wanted to show his paymasters that he wants full control of everything at the club.

I must say, I do enjoy watching Liverpool lose and last night was no exception.
Why the Hindu right wing loves Mr Jinnah 4:10pm on 19 Aug 2009 Whats done is done, whatever our opinions are we need to let go of our hatred/discrimination on what happened with the partition. Hindu's, Muslims, Sikhs etc need to respect each others cultural differences and move forward together because as it stands we are going to continue to destroy each other. We can't even debate without an argument breaking out.

Enough blood has been spilt between us all, we need to stop being manipulated by people who are motivated by personal gain/greed. Instead we should be focused on equality for all, lets start by getting on with each other and see how things go from there because every country has its problems (even developed nations) and the only way to move forward is to work together.
Liverpool have 'the Big Mo' 01:05am on 23 Mar 2009 The way how Liverpool have played in the past three games has been a bit deceptive. What I mean by that is that there has been very little organisation coupled by a few individual errors by the sides that Pool have beaten, but then that isn't their fault as they can only beat whats in front of them. They have taken their chances (quite ruthlessly) and that's what good teams do.

Pool have stepped it up recently, but the real acid test will come when they play an average side that is hell bent on parking the bus (a tactic that should be banned IMO, but then how do you enforce it and decide what team has or hasn't).

Phil, and other posters what do you think the final points tallies will be for Man Utd and Liverpool? I have Man Utd edging it by a single point on 86. I have Chelsea down for 75 as they'll be concentrating on the Champions League.

On a side note its amazing how much Arsenal are going to have a say in the title race without actually being in the title race. No doubt they'll see those games against the other big 3 as a barometer of how well they'll do next season.
Let's celebrate Moore and Beckham 00:15am on 13 Feb 2009 Beckham has been a great servant for England over the past decade. If the current standard of pretenders to his right-wing position are anything to go by then in a few years once Beckham has finally been discarded we'll all be wishing for a player like him.

Going off topic now but now can anyone tell me if any player has won the EPL, La Liga and Serie A titles?
Carrick peaks as Man Utd take charge 11:52am on 01 Feb 2009 I've liked the way how Carrick has played while being unnoticed by the majority and quietly gone on to help Man Utd clean up trophy wise since he joined. Its no coincidence how well Utd have done since he joined. I hope now he'll have a run in the England team.

Now the question is who should make way in the England team for Carrick? Personally I think Gerrard should make way (as IMO he isnt suited to international footie), but I can imagine the uproar of his adoring fans so lets just say drop Barry instead to keep this blog about Carrick and not Gerarrd :).
Bank of England: wrong and powerless 2:56pm on 22 Dec 2008 The reason why the bankers didn't see this coming is because that the best people were not employed to be in charge. Instead it was the less able friends/sons/daughters of friends in high places that were put in charge.

Big Sam is back 7:47pm on 17 Dec 2008 To all those knocking the way Allardyces teams play, remember this Pool and more specifically Chelsea have spent millions and both of those teams success in recent years has come about by playing boring & unattractive football. Double standards perhaps?
Mumbai horror shocks England fans 6:16pm on 01 Dec 2008 I cant help but feel the real reason for England leaving was more to do with the way the results in the series went then their safety. If the series was tied at 2-2 or England were one game behind you can bet that they'd want to continue the series as a positive result would be possible for them. IMHO they left to prevent losing any more games to India, the one day series would've ended 7-0 if they'd have stayed and that's an embarrassment they knew they could hide from.

We Brits are made of sterner stuff, and should hold hands with India and show them that terrorism will never affect our way of life because when we show fear it gives further cause to terrorists to continue what they do. Alot of us grew up with the IRA bombing parts of Britain but were told to continue as normal, same was said after 7/7.

With India being a cricket mad country, a few matches would've undoubtedly have helped them forget and get back to normal after the events of Mumbai. Security would be paramount as the BCCI and the Gov know if there was an attack on a cricket team/venue etc then money spinners like IPL would be cancelled along with all forms of cricket being suspended in the country for a long while and that would be catastrophic for India.

Before anyone criticises what I've written, I was out in India (in Punjab) at the time of the attacks and have only just returned. I was in no way, shape or form worried that I'd be a target, in fact I'm due to go back out there in January. Having said that I'm extremely bitter at the England teams response as the people of India need something to help pick them up and cricket fits the bill perfectly.
