Mobile Day: Thursday June 11th 10:36am on 11 Jun 2009 Sorry, BBC Mobile is hopeless on my iPhone. Have a look at news.com.au's version - you can customise everything on it, with all your top headlines.

I listen to live BBC radio on FStream app, there's lots of links/guides around the web on how to do that.

iPlayer - an app would be nice, but for the time being I'm just using www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/index.html

Freedom of speech in Aus? No such thing! Australia censors so much - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_Australia. This latest effort just makes Aus look like fools for trying to boil the sea - in a country where broadband is not available at EU speeds due to Govt/Telecoms companies unwilling to invest in infrastructure. Primus declared they were out of the trials, iiNet as well, because the firewall of Oz is showing itself to be unworkable. Embarassing, because it shows the Aus govt as being babes in the wood - deeply technologically naive and knee-jerk reactionists.
Tweet, tweet 3:29pm on 02 Mar 2009 Seems to me that the Beeb are behind the times yet again - Twitter has been around for a couple of years now - even Barack Obama used it in his campaign which clearly proves it is not a fad. It's a very valid way of keeping in touch on your mobile device as well as your computer.

What I find so very amusing is how consistently late BBC are to the Web 2.0 (soon to be 3.0) party - same thing happened with Digg/StumbleUpon links etc. Amazed you even have blogs. You're going to have to embrace this "web based culture stuff" far more quickly if you expect to survive in this medium.

Yes, Australia is a lovely place. But I couldn't stand the isolated, introspective, parochial navel gazing of the place. It's terrible. Australia has an incredible inferioirty complex about its place in the world - and it should. It matters not in the global economy or politics. The pathetic attempts to compete on a world stage are embaraasing - there's simply not the volume of people/taxes to fund these whims (Aussie electric car? :rolleyes:) and coupled with the "tyranny of distance" it's always going to be behind the rest of the world.

Good for you if you want to live there. I like living in the real world.
Advance Australia Where? 1:43pm on 29 Apr 2008 Why not look at NZ's excellent campaigns. They're not cringeworthy or horribly parochial, nor do they play on stereotypes.
