Athletics needs to take action 9:30pm on 17 Sep 2008 Having shared two paralympic games with Tanni in my role as a paralympic swim coach I totally agree that decisions have to be taken. Perhaps it is time to leave the mantle to others. There were athletes as well as swimmers who over the years have more or less been guaranteed medals including gold. The 2008 games have proved, as Tanni so rightly says, the world of disabled sport has moved on and in some areas and sports at a unbelievable pace and left some of the 'stalwarts' in their wake.

Come on lets search and train the new talent which we have in Great Britain, motivate them with the videos of Beijing and get them ready for 2012.

Velodrama for Britain's cyclists 4:57pm on 10 Sep 2008 I had the pleasure of being Jody Cundy's paralympic swim coach during Atlanta 96 when he won his first gold medal in the 100m Butterfly. He was a winner then and a winner no. Congratulations Jody.

I also had the pleasure of travelling with the team, including Sarah Bailey nee Storey, all over the world, What a great competitor and another winner.

I am just so proud of both of them to win gold after a successful transition from swimming to cycling.

Idowu pipped on night of disappointments 9:36pm on 21 Aug 2008 With Michael Johnson now virtually working full time for the BBC why not pay him a few more quid to join UK Athletics as a coach and motivator the the track and field team for London 2012.
Paula deserves praise and plaudits 3:37pm on 17 Aug 2008 We are hearing a lot about London 2012 and funding young athletes. Yet we send an athlete to Beijing who was nowhere near fit enough to compete in an event where peak fitness and training are pre-requisites. Why did Paula not admit she was not going to win anything an allow a fit reserve who has trained hard to take her place. This paints a very poor picture to our young athletes aiming for 2012.

I bet the next marathon Paula runs will put a lot of money in her bank account but hopefully it will be soon as her marketing potential will surely be fading fast.

Come on Team GB lets select our best team and not those who think they maybe fit in time irrespective of name or profile
