Hate to be picky but I think Spain and Hungary are slightly worse off (in current economic terms) than the UK - althougth I suppose that depends on which metrics you use.

Slightly confused thougth, if you dont know they are how do you know that they are: "inconsequential nonentities"?

To expect a commercail organisation to cross subsidise musicains is illogical. The output has no more value than what adverisers are preapred to pay with a profit in for google/you tube.

The PRS might not be a "massivie organisation that can just bully anyone into anything" but that does not and has not stopped them from trying. Unfortunatly from them their previous attempts at bullying have only served to convince people that they (PRS) want tehir cake, eat it and then come back for seconds, thirds and fourths etc. Hence the overwheliming support for google expressed here and elsewhere. Doing do does not make people theives, merely they do not see the actions of an out of touch industry as valid in the modern era.
Historic day for Broadband Britain? 5:57pm on 03 Mar 2009 BT arent out for a 'sub', they are investing 1.5 billion of their/the shareholders money to upgrade the network. In exchnage they get to make a profit from others. Seems far to me.

One of the reasons why they (BT) are out of date is because its taken until now for the regulators to decide that they can do so (make a profit).

the problem with that view is that the journalists do not break the court orders. If they cannot and do not release that information, i'm sure they dont go round thinking "yes, i know something somebody else does not know". Nor (to a certain degree) do they use emotive language when discussing these events.

The name(s) have not been made public for a reason, but one can only feel there is an accute reason for that. That reason has not been made public.

True, the internet can be a great leveller but it can also do a great deal of damage. Without knowing all the details in this case it is improper to release any details. Those who do so should be held reponssibile for any "damage" that occurs as a result of their illegal actions.
Who polices Facebook? 2:51pm on 01 Dec 2008 Surely if somebody posted (ie the person placing it on facebook) that in the UK they would have breached a court order. Assuming facebook keep ip logs then it should be possibile to find out who/where they are.

People have responsibilities, not just facebook.
