Lets hope you put a bit more thought into it next time!
Ask Bearders #185 7:47pm on 15 Jan 2009 #12 .. i'd guess Ritchie Richardson.. but Hooper and Lara also went through spells without wearing a helmet - that is until Phil Simmons was smacked in the face in a warm up game in England (hooper at the other end i think)- in 1988 by David 'sid' Lawrence... then they all decided to wear one - apart from R B Richardson who relented until the last few months of his test career!
Scolari faces up to home truths 07:11am on 01 Dec 2008 Adebayor has just come back from injury. he played a key part in both goals. Criticism is extremely harsh!

He strongly criticised Lara when beating his team mates world record Test score - the 400 in Antigua - saying he was playing for himself and not the team- Aussies would never do that he claimed. Something that cricket fans in the Caribbean hotly disputed - Windies were trying to avoid a whitewash in that series.

How does Ponting now justify his actions in being more concerned about avoiding a ban than winning a test match!
Beware a wounded Australia 02:57am on 11 Nov 2008 It completely annoys me how everything is about 'the ashes'. Cricket is a global game played at a world level by 9 countries - yet all the jornalists and cricketers do is judge ever series on how it relates to the Ashes - its arrogant beyond belief. Beating the Aussies in the 80's menat nothing as the West Indies were clearly the best team. England focus should be about being the best team - and that means this tour in India is essential in its own right - not just as an ashes warmer!
Stanford parade raises serious concerns 2:26pm on 02 Nov 2008 Just a minor observation - there seems to be more anti Stanford feeling on this message board, by cricket journalists and 'selling their soul to the devil' comments than there ever was about the English rebels who forsaked their England cricket career to make a few quick dollars in support of aparthide South Africa!

This was just a fun game of cricket for a lot of money - that the vast majority of people in the Caribbean supported and enjoyed.

Test cricket lives, and hopefully we will see a strong West indies team against England in the Caribbean in March!

He went to Antigua with a closed mind. The criticism of the wicket has been ridiculous - considering the weather that has been in Antigua the wicket is remarkable - and producing exciting cricket.

20twenty is a bit of a nonsense, but its helping the Windies get back into cricket - and Agnew has completely lost site of that -apart from an occasional after though at the end of his articles.

I hope the Windies team win, not out of any bitterness - just Windies need it more than England - and cricket needs agood West Indies team.
Thrills and spills at the Super Series 06:36am on 30 Oct 2008 Give the guy a break. He is actually deviating from the English medias default setting (decided upon before arriving in the caribbean) and calling it as how he is experiencing and seeing it. Yes this game is put on by a self promoting ego maniac - but that is no different to the IPL - just there are several of them running it in India - here just one!
Reading caribbean cricket forums there seems to be a much more positive view of it over there - i also think the Caribbean team will end up winning as they are more focussed and used to the conditions. My main hope is this exercise benefits West Indies cricket - as cricket without a strong West Indies side is never as good.
Yes, Test cricket should always be the main act. i am more interested in any test cricket anywhere than any ther cricket. But the British media (including broadsheets and the BBC) tend to give scant coveage to anything that doesnt involve England. then when they do its always with an 'ashes' angle - as if no other country or series matters. Shame!
