O2 Arena plays perfect host to season finale 09:09am on 30 Nov 2009 an overall 10/10 for the weeks tennis

never been to the O2 arena before, in fact had very negative thoughts about it before I went on Tuesday evening. I was v pleasantly surprised, great venue, didn't like the music and noise and dry ice etc, but the 4 match I saw were great. the crowd joined in, and were near enough to feel part of the occasion. managed to get there 2 evenings, and only complaint is that I missed the last few games of each evening as my last train home at 23.40 meant I had to leave. it was a pity on both occasions.

if the evening moved earlier as suggested the afternoon sessions would probably have to too, and it would be v difficult for people to get to the evening sessions after work.
great too, to see Davydenko win after all this time, he's always been such a gentleman on court and very self deprecating. in his interviews this week he showed a lovely sense of humour - which I didn't expect. he's worked so hard, he deserved the win. Interesting about the end os season tiredness others have commented on - doesn't Davydenko play more tournaments than most?
what a pity the BBC commentators could only comment on the alledged match fixing probe years ago when talking about him, but sang the praises of everyone else. also a pity the BBC didn't see fit to show the 2nd semi final
Council housing: Should Right-to-Buy be scrapped? 7:13pm on 25 Nov 2008 agree with Katym609 to a large extent. suspending right to buy will achieve nothing.

there are a huge number of new house builds that have been suspended due to the credit crunch, why doesn't the govt finance the completion of these properties? or when a house that is likely to be repossessed gets to that point, why can't the govt take over ownership of the property - would mean people wouldn't become homeless.
or even buy up repossessed properties to use as council homes

the houses are there, but are sitting empty, there are a huge no of empty houses in the SE that need relatively little money spent on them to bring them up to the correct levels for inhabiting.
What did you think of the show? (24/11/08) 7:13pm on 24 Nov 2008 I think speaking correctly is very important. It irritates me that people today think it's acceptable to speak badly, misuse the english language.

I am more likely to respect someone who speaks correct English, and stive to speak it correctly myself.

How do we stop dog attacks? 7:18pm on 10 Nov 2008 I have been a dog owner all my life, we always had dogs when we were children, and they are great family pets. But as Fern said they are dogs and should be treated as such. They must know that you are top dog in the family.

Also, although your dog is a loving pet, you should never never leave it alone in a room with children. you don't know what might suddenly frighten a dog, or if a child might do somehing to anger a dog and it may attack for the first time in its life. it could be something as silly as trying to take a toy from it, or it trying to take food from children.

parents need to be educated about how to treat dogs and their children too. It is often the owners of 'dangerous' dogs to blame as they teach their dogs to be violent, but quite often something innocuous can trigger an attack from a well loved family pet.

so never leave your children alone in a room with a dog.......
Athletics needs to take action 12:28pm on 17 Sep 2008 great performance by our team all round. didn't think we could possibly exceed our medal total in Athens and we have.

athletics quetsion though - the chinese athlte who lit the torch in the opening ceremony was a high jumper - why was there no high jump competition this year?

Chambers controversy could help athletics 5:19pm on 15 Jul 2008 well as someone on the news said last night, what is all the fuss about, even IF and it's a very big IF he's allowed to go, he'd be doing well to make the finals, so why bother taking him at all?

take people who have followed the rules, give them the experience of an Olympic Games, and show athletes and the population in general, that a ban means a ban, not a small break til we feel like it.

personally if he goes either as an individual or as part of the relay squd I will be shouting for the Jamaicans. He is a disgrace.
