Dwain Chamber is right in saying there are many Cheats out there in Athletics ! some still competing today, others have got away with it and today are very rich and powerful .. mention no names for legal reasons .
I would be interested to read his book. Good luck to him if he makes money on his stance as a cheat.
I dont know who adviced him to say that he made a mistake rarher than admit he was a cheat ! it doesn't fit really does i ? I dont know wether it will sell him many copies or not.. but having worked in the book trade for more than a decade and been active in athletics for 4 ... I can only say he could have done better reacher and seek other entourage to get his story delivers much better and in a smart manner.
Dwain knows as I know that today some former athletes ( specially those who criticise him !! mention no names ..) have themselves cheated big time and got away with it.
I tell you why they got away with it. Firstly the substances or the methods they have fellowed worked for them.. but not for Dwain, they've trained harder than Dwain, they had the right people in right places to protect them. These athletes were simply smarter than Dwain.
So it's not a question of bad luck you get caught ! it is who you know, how cool headed you are, how trust worthy you can be, how hard you can train and above where you are located and what background you come from.
Paula deserves praise and plaudits 10:51am on 18 Aug 2008 If you ask the Chinese events directors, the IOC, people interested in Marathon running all around the world, I am sure they will tell you they are glad and happy that Paula Radcliffe decided to take part in the Marathon, even though she was not fully fit.
Paula made the Marathon very interesting to watch.
With respect to the other GB athlete who was a reserve and waiting for the opportunity to tale part in the Olympics, has she competed, she probably would've made no mark on the event and probably finish way way back ...Yes she was robbed of a place to take part, that's how things work out sometimes, I am sure she will get over it. So should many of you.

By finishing the Marathon, Paula has won many admirers around the world, sadly once again, many of her fellow Brits are the first ones to criticise her.
I think Paula should be proud of the way she finished the race, she gave the olympic games that special sportive feelling, that feeling that make people wait 4 long years to watch all kind of sports on the tele.

All I want to know is how did you manage to become one of the greatest sprinter on the planet with your running style ! ? :) and if you had a perfect athletics running posture , do you think you would've got a little faster ?
As a coach we are trained not to correct athletes running style . What do you think ? I understand a distance runner can get away with me but not a sprinter.

You can only peak for few weeks not for a few years !! athletes are made of tissure, bone, cells, muscles, nerves .... they are not rebots.
As for your comments about me being a know-not about the sport, well I can only answer you by saying I raced with and againt 3 olympic gold medalist, I am also a qualified middle distance coach.
Seb Coe had a blood disorder in early 80's which is a fact, his illness and his sudden peak of form rised my eye brows ...it is healthy to have doubts I believe but I do understand the implication of accusing a powerful man as he is today .

In my opinion deep down in Mr Coe's head ! he knows well that Steve Ovet was a better runner, smarter, and cooler ...I am sure when Steve stands behand him today !Seb gets very nervous !! he still has not recover from that defeat in the 800m final in Moscow from the way he talks about their rivalry .
There are also doubts about Coe's sudden peak of form during late 70's and early 80's ...I dont have any evidence of course but this speculation has been going on for many years in the world of middle distance running.
