All to play for? 10:49am on 14 Nov 2009 The SNP should not punish people for not voting for them. That is totally wrong and counterproductive. This is a by-product of the frustration many feel with what has gone on here.

I think the positive vision of Scotland that the SNP talk of will eventually see us through to independence. However, as it stands right now in Westminster elections I think the SNP need to get tougher, much tougher. They need to get the gloves off with Nulab. Any Nulab lie needs to be rebutted as quickly as possible. And if the press don't want to help in this end scream the place down until they do. This is twice in a row Nulab have shifted the ground at an election and twice now that the SNP have failed to nip it in the bud. The SNP should do everything they can to destroy the charlatan Nulab. But having said all that maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the SNPs strategists are right and plodding patiently and politely on is the right way to proceed here. But it's not the way I'd proceed.

Scotland will have a veto on rumpUK retaining its seat on the Security council. It will be Scotland's perogative to decide whether rumpUK is the sucessor state. That's another very important reason why the UK is desperate to keep hold of Scotland.
The plebiscite to end all plebiscites 5:41pm on 09 Oct 2009 Another bugbear of mine which ties in with this. To think we have a responsibility to the rest of union is an utter nonsense. I grew up in the SE of England and I assure you what Scotland thinks or does is irrelevant to people there. We must have the self-respect to look after ourselves and in so doing respect the abilities of others to do likewise. It's patronising as well as self-defeating to think otherwise. That's why we must have a clean break politically and economically whilst honouring socially the ties that bind.

So we'd be outside the EU but our oil would be within the EU? Utter nonsense.

Is Dutch gas a common EU resource? I don't think so.

It seems to me despite the Libdums u-turn that a 2 question referendum remains on the cards what with the abandonment of Calman. Any thoughts anyone?
The Goldie conundrum 7:28pm on 05 Oct 2009 Good indepth analysis but as JRMcclure said why no mention of the referendum???? A yes vote renders Cameron void and Goldie barely any stronger.

Onwards to independence. It's the only sensible answer to the nightmare of Tory and Cameron diktat.
Trusting the trust 3:00pm on 02 Oct 2009 Glen Campbell in his article completely failed to mention that one of the key reasons the Scottish govt should have been represented is that they have one of the most ambitious and advanced policies in the world with regards cutting carbon emissions.

Nicola Sturgeon was her usual excellent self. The most interesting thing for me was confirmation from the Speaker that he's a dyed in the wool Unionist. And he should have been far more concerned in demanding the labour benches be much quieter when a Minister is speaking. I could barely hear Nicola Sturgeon speak at times.
