Varley: credit to shrink for up to two years 09:24am on 20 Dec 2008 BBC why does this forum display the dollar symbol but not the pound symbol? That is ridiculous. Sort it out please.

Contrast this with HSBC.

HSBC will lend up to £15bn in mortgages in 2009, a 20pc rise on this year.
HSBC said it would create a new $5bn (£3.4bn) global fund for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), including £1bn in the UK.
Paul Thurston, HSBC's UK managing director, said: "By some estimates, net mortgage lending in the UK will fall next year, but HSBC has no intention of closing its doors to customers, nor will we compromise our reputation for responsible lending. We remain open for business to the tune of £15bn."
Michael Geoghegan, HSBC's group chief executive, said: "This is a difficult time for business in many economies. Customers are rightly looking to see how banks can help. "SMEs are the lifeblood of most economies and it is their success that will create economic growth."

Happy Birthday BBC HD 7:00pm on 12 Dec 2008 After 12 months you should surely be able to replace the never ending previews with some decent content?

Please try and improve the 1080i output to 1080p so that it can compete with the superior picture and sound quality of Blu Ray.

And please get rid of the DOG as I don’t like screen clutter and will keep switching to other channels.
BBC HD: DOGs Update 6:58pm on 11 Dec 2008 I’ve given up on BBC HD as the appearance of the DOG on my plasma TV is just too hit and miss. Perhaps the listings in Radio Times could indicate which programmes are due to be broadcast without the DOG

I have found that Sky Arts 1 & 2 broadcast everything without the DOG so what’s up at the BBC?

BBC 3 has the most disgusting pink DOG I have ever seen, making it unbearable.

I think Jeremy Paxman was right about minority audiences on BBC digital channels and I think I know the reason for the slow take-up of freesat! Both BBC HD and ITV HD put the DOG and red button control freak hurdles ahead of customer expectations.

I received a recent communication from MSN telling me that my hotmail account would no longer work with Outlook Express after 30th June. I was advised to download Live Mail which I do not need. I therefore closed my account.

They also made windows XP so well that not many are prepared to be forced to buy windows Vista, thus making their favourite software incompatible.

I understand that MSN intend to stop support for XP in 2011. I predict a boost for Apple by then.
