The BBC and the Paralympics 11:27pm on 15 Oct 2009 Good point ThomThom. And MURRAY, if you don't like it, don't watch it. People with a disability aren't 'trying' to do sport, they ARE doing sport and achieving what most of us can only dream of and that is to realise their dreams and give 100% in all that they do. And you're wrong, many people are interested and I know many who sky plussed tonnes of Paralympic coverage last year. I have brought friends to the last two paralympic games and everyone one of those friends marvels at what disabled athletes can achieve and have said they are totally inspired by them all.

Oh and by the way, my brother is a paralympic swimmer, has 6 Paralympic gold medals, over 36 major championship medals, has travelled the world, met the queen, been on tv numerous times, has received an OBE and much more! I would love to see you tell him face to face that he trys to do sport!
New sports, same concerns for Olympic family 6:13pm on 09 Oct 2009 And good point too - why on earth not Squash. Squash is seen as a minority sport these days and there's less and less places available to play. I personally love it and it should definitely be an Olympic sport. The competitors would certainly see it as the pinnacle of their career!
New sports, same concerns for Olympic family 6:10pm on 09 Oct 2009 Sometimes I just don't understand how people come to these decisions? Why on earth Golf? Why not a new sport, one that doesn't already have billions of pounds within it. Why spend money on them to go along to an event that doesn't really mean that much to them as the majors etc. Terrible decision.

Tottenham were good, but they didn't get much of the ball in the second half after the 2nd goal, it's just that Liverpool didn't have the end product to finish them off. It's like Usain Bolt losing a race and then someone writing a big article about how he's lost it or doesn't quite cut the mustard. Ok, Liverpool aren't the best in the world, but it is only the first game of the season and they will be up there come the end.

JUST LOOK INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS. TEAMS HAVE DOMINATED FOR PERIODS AT DIFFERENT TIMES JUST LIKE TEAMS IN FOOTBALL, RUGBY AND ANY OTHER SPORTS DO (WILLIAMS, RENAULT, MCLAREN, FERRARI ETC).

AS WE'VE SEEN THIS YEAR, OTHER THINGS CAN AFFECT THE WINNER OF A RACE AND SPEED OF A CAR BESIDES BUDGET AND IT'S MADE THE SEASON FAR MORE EXCITING (I HADN'T WATCHED HARDLY ANY RACES OVER THE LAST FEW YEAR'S UNTIL THIS SEASON).

A BUDGET CAP OF 40M WOULD BE A STEP TO FAR.
Downcast Benitez fears worst 4:18pm on 22 Apr 2009 Good article, but I think it's wrong to say our defence is a problem. Ok, we have let in 8 goals in the last two matches which is bad, but prior to that, we've had a pretty reliable rock solid defence for most of the season and we've had one of the best defences for the last god knows how many seasons. I think Liverpool are on the verge of reclaiming their crown and with what is apparently a 'rubbish' team according to most fans of the other top 4 teams. I hope Rafa makes one or two decent big name signings this summer that could help to complete his jigsaw as if we don't win it this year, we'll win it next. :)
England's new dawn 1:34pm on 16 Mar 2009 No, the new era started last summer. It's only now that things could finally be looking up. But let's not get to carried away as of yet. If we lose to Scotland then the critics will undoubtably be out in force again. You're only as good as your last match remember!

At the end of the day, it's all about getting through. And if Madrid are oh so much better than Liverpool, why didn't they get anything from the game and take us to the cleaners? It's so frustrating that everyone constantly bemoans Liverpool, that we are lucky, that we are rubbish. Well imagine this. If we are truely that rubbish, isn't it embarrassing for teams like Chelsea and Arsenal to be below us in the league, and for those that lose to Liverpool in the Champions league who are supposedly oh so much better than us. And imagine what we could do if we actually had world class players all over the pitch like Man United and Chelsea do!!!

Liverpool have always been strong defensively and if a team can't break us down and score and then we score as a result of one or two attacks, that's the way the cookie crumbles I'm afraid.

The same happens in rugby. I remember watching New Zealand v England prior to the World Cup in 2003 and England were reduced to 13 men at one stage. New Zealand bombarded the England back line but England were resolute and it was a pleasure to watch tackle after tackle go in which resulted in England winning the game.

Sport is sport and you can win ugly. It might not please all of you, but that's the way it goes. Get over it.
Sheikh ya money! 11:52am on 16 Jan 2009 I can see a special bond growing between Kaka and all those Man City church goers! Hmmm. The move doesn't make sense for him nor for Man City.

You can buy a good quality side for that money. Why not buy 3/4 quality stars for that money instead.

If this deal makes business sense to them then they've cleary lost the plot.
