I am sorry, but I have no time for them.

The fact that record labels have managed to introduce legislation that is unjust (I don't remember the people demanding from the government the obscene copyright terms we have for authors) should not mean that performers look for "equality" by requesting the introduction of copyright terms for them that are equally unreasonable.

I wish any work I do today will generate some income for me in 50 years time!

Performers should count their blessings and stop trying to rip off consumers and our cultural heritage.

Sir, it is not a matter of semantics.

It is a matter of UK, European and international law. If it was just a matter of semantics the same body of law would apply to copyright infringement and to common theft, but lawmakers realized long time ago that copyright infringement could not be equated with common theft, and as a matter of fact copyright itself is an artificial construct that was not accepted in all modern societies (I am thinking about former communist countries for example).

Why do you insist to re-hash this old chestnut when better informed people about this matter have passed judgement not once, but many times, in multiple forums and legal systems?

People like you, that talk about copyright issues without wanting to handle the correct terminology, muddle the waters of an issue that is complicated enough already, and by embracing such loaded language clearly show a bias that is not in accordance with what is expected from somebody writing using an space offered by the BBC.

Your misinformed and misguiding views are of no value in opposition to the blatantly obvious. Just ask a lawyer to see if the difference is purely semantic in case it is not by now abundantly clear how ridiculous is to say such a thing.

Nothing: whining and lots of hot dirty air.

People want to drive and drive to no end to earn a living or for fun, and if we all choke to death or are eventually flooded, they just don't care.

The only way to force people to take actions in the long term benefit of the country and humanity, is forcing them.

Most people do not care about the state of the planet they are going to inherit to their descendants, but they are so selfish that other people (politicians) have to baby sit them into doing the right thing.

Scientists have said the last word about global climate change, but the ignorant public will never ever bow to the wisdom of the experts.

Experts in this country are obviously out to get you, their advice must be ignored because the people (ignorant, unprepared and selfish) know batter.

I hope that the current government or a future Tory one do not succumb to this rule of the mob.
