France, not Ferguson's successor, should be Blanc's future 12:18pm on 17 Nov 2009 It will undoubtedly be one of the Scots - O'Neill, Moyes, or - dare I say - Strachan?

Blanc wouldn't be a bad choice either. #2 - let us remember Fergie was once only a match away from a sacking - where has he gone? As much as we shouldn't get all flustered at the thought of him being a great, future United manager - we also shouldn't completely dismiss him as being "not up to it".

I also agree with #15 - sure, the level of skill had by the players in the French League and Premier League generally is different. The processes, coaching and general man-management almost certainly isn't.

Though despite all we've said - I'm going with Steve Bruce to be our next manager.

Ronaldo may have done, but his motives for staying on was because he wanted to show off. Rooney's motives were because he just wants to play and run around!

Valencia is not Ronaldo-lite 1:06pm on 01 Jul 2009 Totally true MrBlue - he is only six months younger, but one thing going for him is that he hasn't been at United for the last 5 years, whereas Ronaldo has had Fergie cultivating him all that time.

I think he'll do well. Interesting stuff - just hope they put him on show at their pre-season friendly to Luton!

I'd like Newcastle, both the club and fans, to have a bit of a reality check. They seem to think they are a 'big club'. They're not. Go and visit Blackpool on a cold, December night and then tell me you're a big club. Don't get me wrong, they have fantastic supporters (albeit a bit delusional) and history. Still...Championship will do them good!

Poor game from the ref. But as many have said, it's football. Fletcher got wrongly sent off last night, did he shout and scream? No. He was an utter professional and walked off to the dressing room. Any appeals from United were from Giggs and Rio. Terry needs to take a leaf out of the Scotland captains book.

Sheesh.

Good little blog this one. I wish Arsenal can mount a proper title campaign next season. They are the only other team in the top 4 I respect. As a club and for their manager. Wenger is one of the best. I honestly wouldn't mind losing the title to them, they're probably the only ones who deserve it - especially if he creates 'The Invincibles v2!'.
