Thank you for organising this competition. Although I didn't get through, it inspired me to try something new - and I enjoyed writing my piece, so I might well try again.

I agree with badger Martin's suggestion about making a two line blog entry on the day just confirming that all successful entrants had been informed. For the future, it might also be good if a list of the peopele who got through to the second read could be posted somewhere after the event. All feedback is important and useful. For the people who got to the second read, it offers some encouragemnt; to those who didn't, it says 'you're not thinking enough about your first ten pages (and, maybe, the rest)'. I think it would also be nice if the 16 people who nearly made ir got an email - even a standard one - saying bad luck, but keep at it. you did very well. But perhaps these have been sent or are planned.

These suggestions are certainly not meant as criticisms - just possible ways of making the writersroom even more helpful to aspiring writers than it already is.
