What do you want from the BBC in the future? 10:44am on 10 Sep 2009 OOOOOh! (said with appropriate inflection)

The Chairman of the BBC lost his cool today - it was disgraceful for him to indirectly warn Victoria when she challenged him on the Deputy Director not using the Tube. He asked her if she would like to be criicised about her programme in full hearing of the other passengers!
Well done V for coming back at him in your own defence.
And then he offered to let her join in a jolly (like attending the Strictly final) by using his power and influence.
What is coming through in waves is this arrogant smug man is going to defend to the death his and his cronies right to ride the gravy train.
He did like the young girl's question and managed to patronize her beautifully.
So we are even paying the TAX on his expenses. OMG.
Bacon goes for a trial run 09:31am on 28 Aug 2009 Away from the back-slapping, cotton wool world of the BBC, Richard Bacon got a sharp dose of reality last night and this should be a wake-up call for the BBC - with all those highly paid professionals advising him, who on earth allowed him to talk about being Middle Class in front of an intelligent audience? And he didn't want to hear the honest criticism from listeners - he showed himself to be a precious, self-obsessed primadonna. I loved the bit where the guy from the London comedy club reminded him of the time he was off with people at the Crossroads set and then he made some arrogant comment about not remembering it! Then the BBC mysteriously lost the connection...

Wake up BBC, all those comments were accurate - ordinary people are smart, demanding and perceptive - don't give us trash. The only decent comedy in the last 10 years has been The Office and Stewart Lee - the rest has been patronising rubbish.
Richard Bacon hoping for laughs 4:40pm on 27 Aug 2009 They say when your taxi-driver talks about his share portfolio, the market's about to crash...I strongly suggest the BBC cuts its comedy budget.

Richard Bacon hoping for laughs 4:21pm on 27 Aug 2009 Comedy is subjective and he may be lucky - personally I don't find Richard's stock-in-trade of Twitter, sport and interesting facts delivered in an over-enthusiastic tone at all amusing - but then I am an intelligent person and expect more from 5live.

It reminds me of the great Stewart Lee's joke about Radio 4 comedy shows substituting rhythm and tone for content and wit. Suspect that might be Richard's approach, but I will enjoy the excrutiating experience nevertheless.
"We are treated like s***" 09:44am on 13 Aug 2009 If we have more selfless MPs with real-life experience, will that inevitably lead to a socialist bias? Listening to some people's views where "caring", do-gooding public service is the desired background, I suspect this is the case and this is the worst thing that could happen to the UK. These people do not understand efficiency and adding value, they are just black holes sucking in taxpayers' money.
The UK can only prosper if it is entrepreneurial and innovative and this means capitalism not socialism - we need to have MPs who have real business experience, and integrity - contrary to public opinion these qualities are not mutually exclusive.
Thursday morning, live from Walsall 10:52am on 30 Jul 2009 So the state broadcaster has returned to its liberal agenda has it? This mornings Nicky and Victoria shows were biased towards the eloquently expressed views of the wilfully blind social(ist??) worker contributors with the representatives of the law-abiding tax paying majority labelled Nazi and judgemental by both Victoria and Nicky. Is the imbalance because eloquent tax payers are all at work, not sponging off the state or in cushy public sector jobs?
Taking the pulse of the economy 09:34am on 15 Jul 2009 The recession will be over when the Government starts to SERIUOSLY address the huge growth in public sector non-jobs. Unless they do we are doomed.
