CBBC Competition 4:11pm on 23 Jul 2009 Paul, thanks for sharing all this info, it's fantastic.

Can I just suggest one tiny thing? I think a lot of muttering took place on the other blog was because people felt uncertain that the final choice had been made - 'no news is good news' type of thing. I know you have no obligation to do it, but for future competitions, a quick blog on the day you finalise the shortlist to say 'we've finialised the shortlist...' (or whatever!) would let all those unsuccessful entrants know they definitely didn't get through. I don'd think this would be too much trouble, would it?

Writers Academy 14 5:26pm on 10 Jul 2009 Thanks Ceri, that's fair enough, I do understand. And I didn't really mean 'going wrong', just why the script/application didn't get through to the final list. But like I say, I do understand why you can't do it.
Writers Academy 14 3:05pm on 10 Jul 2009 I understand the BBC has a policy of not giving feedback to individual entrants who failed to make the final shortlist, and given the numbers involved it makes sense, but I wonder if an exception could be made here? I'm sure there are many from the final 150 (myself included) who would find it useful to know where they went wrong at the last stage, especially if they are thinking about trying again next year. Even just knowing the final 'score' out of 80 would be useful! Would this be possible?
CBBC Competition 2:54pm on 10 Jul 2009 I wonder if somebody from the writersroom could post something here to confirm the final selection has been made... and put 680 people out of their misery?
