I take it you've never seen a kung fu film, 'Five Fingers of Death' anyone? I loved Kill Bill, probably because I am a huge fan of the kung fu films from the 70s and 80s.

Why can't it be a exploitation war movie, like the very movie he took the title from?
The Tarantino Situation 10:38pm on 10 Aug 2009 I disagree with the statement that Tarantino is "somebody chasing a fast buck". He spent almost 10 years working on the script for Inglourious Basterds, he clearly wants to make the best film he can. He loves film.
Also, I think Kill Bill is a fantastic film. But Death Proof was rubbish.
Review: Vincent Cassel in Mesrine 12:10pm on 10 Aug 2009 Saw Mesrine at the weekend. Quite enjoyed it, much better than the disappointing Public Enemies. Good performance by Cassel. He presented a much more complex, interesting and flawed gangster, rather than Johnny Depp's smooth John Dillinger. The escape and return scenes at the prison were very suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat. Overall, the film was interesting and fast paced, 2 hours just flew by. While certainly not perfect, it was very entertaining.
5 Live Review: Antichrist 9:03pm on 29 Jul 2009 MarkKRubbish, I was refering to Mark's interview with Willem Dafoe. Mark said it was a film about misogyny, but Dafoe didn't think so.
5 Live Review: Antichrist 9:50pm on 27 Jul 2009 Just watched this. Here are my thoughts.

Great performances by Willam Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The cinematography is excellent. I would be suprised if Antony Dod Mantle does not get at least a nomination come Oscar time. I loved the shots of Charlotte Gainsbourg walking through the forest in slow motion.

The final scenes were incredibly intense and brilliantly done.

Definetly a film about misogyny. I agree with you Dr. Mark.

I found the idea about the shoes on the wrong feet interesting and very disturbing, I would of liked Von Trier to have gone further into this.

I didn't really get all the symbolism, but I felt the film worked well as a pure horror film.

p.s. I did not laugh at the talking fox.
