I think you'll find the labour scheme was aimed at illegal immigrants whereas the BNP policy is also aimed at non-whites whose famillies have been here for generations.

Or do you deny that the BNP routinely referes to all non-whites as 'immigrants' regardless of how many generations the famillies have been here?

Part of the BNP agenda if they should come to power is (i'm paraphrasing but the actual sentiment is clearly expressed in BNP literature) 'Non-ethnic British will be strongly encouraged to return to their countries of origin.'

I think it would have been relevant to ask them what means of 'strong encouragement' they have in mind. (British ethnic origin is defined by the BNP as people of celtic, anglosaxon ,norse or irish ancestry- ie. white. How they classify those of mixed origins eg. celtic/caribbean is not made clear.

Question Time and the BNP 5:33pm on 07 Sep 2009 The really ironic thing about this is the BNP & members despise the BBC (check out the cooments on this issue at the BNP website -always a good read)and are on record speaking of it in almost defamatory terms.

Mind you they hated the European Human Rights act to, until Mr Griffin felt his members human rights had been violated by the publication of the now infamous BNP mambers list.

At which point he seems to have realised that its a fine piece of legislation and visited his local constabulary to demand its enforcement...

In fairness to the justice system they have been handed the thoughest sentence in british law. The respective 5 and 12 year sentences widely reported in the media are a minimum term. whether they ever get out or not is entirley at the courts discretion & i strongly doubt they will ever be released.

Moving on to the blog, if that bizarre triangle digram is supposed to be any kind of guideline for good practrice by the social work authorities its no wonder there's confusion in the system
- it looks like a serious case of 'when consultants attack'.

Perhaps if they worried less about advice and input from outside agencies and consultancies and listened more to their own experienced employees then the whole system would work better.

I doubt anybody knows the answer, but i've worked in local government and I wonder how many top level social work managers have a background in social work, or even child care?

we all know its got to happen, regardless of who wins the next election, labours constant denial of this simply reinforces their reputation for spin & dishonesty.

At least if we knew who was going to be cutting what we could make an informed choice about which party we'd prefer for the next term. As it is we have the tories admitting they will make cuts (but not where & how much) labour trying to spin a way of promising no cuts (while still delivering them) and the lib dems who seem to be keeping quiet on the whole issue.

How is the voter supposed to make an informed choice based on that?
