Map of the Week: Homelessness crisis? What homelessness crisis? 9:54pm on 16 Jun 2009 This appears to show the figures as the government would like you to see them. Actual figures are not down! I work in this field and can state with authority that in spite of the government spending on homelessness the number of homeless is not falling.It does depend on whether you are talking homeless or rough sleepers as there is a difference.
There are some who do not wish to be housed and many who cannot maintain the resposibility of running a home, but there are also many who would give anything to be 'normal' and have a roof and a job.
