Megachurch in succession turmoil 00:12am on 16 Jun 2009 yupppa, yes the issue of the accounts and auditing will be subsumed under company law. On the other hand, access to information can be pursued through Data Protection and Freedom of Information. As has been well documented, the fact that the church is an organisation makes this difficult. Nonetheless the accounts much be audited and must be reported.

I will ask some of my collegues whose area of expertise is in company law and get back to you.
Megachurch in succession turmoil 00:05am on 16 Jun 2009 yuppa, technically speaking, it has been sorted out in private!.....the pastors are not 'slating' each other and they have agreed not to reveal the deal they came to.

In my opinion, much of the debate seems to stem from so called 'christians' who are determined to cause problems or get even and who are making claims that Pastor McKim was 'sacked' etc. That is untrue, and i believe that Pastor McKim whould reject that outright! Yes, Pastor McKim was probably unhappy with Pastor McConnell change of heart and had his issues with that (which is fair enough and which I think Pastor McConnell apologised for making a mistake regarding the setting of a date) hence his decision to move on! It does not mean he will not lead WW in the future! As soon a members desist from engaging in conspiracy theories and gossip the quicker this will be resolved.

Megachurch in succession turmoil 11:52pm on 15 Jun 2009 Unfortunately yuppa and reuben I am fearful that Pastor McKim may not want to engage in a fact finding exercise in front of our brothers and sisters as im certain the correspondence will show that Pastor McConnell is not the big bad woof that many are protraying him to be! However, I should qualify that by stating that as far as im aware Pastor McKim has not said he is! instead, it appears to be some people who have grips with WW or the Pastor unrelated to this issue. If the issue comes down solely to a date would most members not agree that irregardless of the prophetic vision of Pastor McConnell we would all like them to work it out.

Megachurch in succession turmoil 11:39pm on 15 Jun 2009 ok yupppa, i agree- although you have to accept that Pastor McConnell did read out his correspondence, yet Pastor McKim has not? Does that not raise questions?

My final word on this is that Pastor McConnell has made mistakes but Pastor McKim may not be totally innocent in the whole situation- as some seem to be determined to believe. In any event, what ever will be will be and I dont see how fellow brothers and sisters reverting to polarized 'camps' will assist in the resolution of this matter, nor allow the respective personalities involved to move forward.
Megachurch in succession turmoil 11:34pm on 15 Jun 2009 yes ruebens an open debate which involves discovery of the correspondence would certainly be helpful- the documentation will reveal all and allow certain persons to answer some difficult questions.
Megachurch in succession turmoil 11:27pm on 15 Jun 2009 yes yuppa, the correspondence will speak for itself....pastor mcconnell read out his correspondence to everyone because it was not privilaged, so i hope that Pastor McKim can do the same. Maybe if Pastor McKim would read out to everyone all his correspondence then everyone would have a completely synoptic perception of events and can debate it from there. Will that happen....i doubt it??
Megachurch in succession turmoil 11:24pm on 15 Jun 2009 yes yuppa as i have consistently said the initiating correspondence from Pastor McKim will certainly clear this up rather quickly. In fact this correspondence will obviate the need for an open discussion!!! Get it and revert to me as once you have perused same you will see the fault of both sides and that i have correctly pointed out many facts.
