Barnes gamble was doomed from the start 2:55pm on 10 Oct 2009 Nice guy, good footballer but he did not learn his trade when it came to football management. Why he thought his "knowledge" would be sufficient to manage Celtic and Tranmere is beyond me. He should have learnt and gained experience with a smaller club as an assistant before stepping into the big stage. Doubt he will now be given another chance.

Monty slams Poulter absence 1:49pm on 24 Sep 2009 Monty has always liked the limelight and as a golfer he is past it so he is making the most of it whilst he is RC Captain. I can't wait for the RC to be over and perhaps we won't have to put up with all his arrogance and hot air. It is interesting to note that most of the comments above feel Monty will be a poor captain and I agree. Why does he always feel he knows best and by constantly telling the players what to do and what is expected of them will only antagonise them. They are not a bunch of school boys, they are professional golfers at the top of their game. Monty was never in the same leaque as Jack or Arnie and should learn to keep his mouth shut or lose what respect the players have for him.
Pressure on as top stars feel the cut 6:15pm on 09 Sep 2009 There are hundred of things which might distract a young golfer from fulfilling his potential.Besides a loss of form, there are family issues,girl friends, money, sponsors etc etc Who knows why Rose and Scott have tumbled down the rankings. Only they know if it a loss of confidence or lack of practise or something else. What it does confirm is that it is very difficult to stay in the top 10 which re-emphasisies what an incredible achievment it is of Tiger's to remain No 1 for so many years.

Assuming he reveals his 12 names eventually, there is no way we will know if the 12 are his original dozen or it has been doctored to fit the final 12 and show the world how clever he is. It would be much more interesting if he told us his 12 NOW.

The tests should have been done in secret. They are going to be in a very difficult and embarrasing situation if at the end of the day she proves to be a woman.

Glover stands tall to overcome sentimental hopes 3:36pm on 23 Jun 2009 Proof again if it was needed of Tiger's amazing fighting qualities. Most golfers would have given up on their chances if they are 10 shots or so behind the leaders after the first round, if not deliberately certainly sub-consciously but I believe Tiger thinks anything is possible and never ever gives up.
