BT: A blacker pension hole 12:49pm on 31 Jul 2009 As an ex-BT employee, if I had my working life again I wouldn't contribute to any pension scheme that was under the under the control of someone else. Rather I would create my own scheme retain control of the cash within it. Why?

Today my BT pension is £110 a week, but if I had saved that money in my own bank account it would be mine to do with as I wished, and I would still be eligible for the £130 pension credit on offer from the government today.

So what is the point of giving control of your money to someone else via a possible corrupt or unsustainable pension scheme?

In the past, I have followed your posts because you appeared to have some grasp on the current situation that even MPs did not have.

But this post has made me wonder. You talk of having passed the point of extreme stress, but I for one think that this point has yet to be reached.
