BBC Sport's fuel-adjusted Belgian GP grid 6:53pm on 29 Aug 2009 Interesting to remember Fisi's pole time was his last but one flying lap, i.e. with about an extra 2.25kg of weight in the car. Had he have aborted his slower final lap, when it was clear that he couldn't be beat, he would have been further up the fuel corrected grid again.

The time lost by Lewis would be 0 seconds, in real terms because both their stops would have been seven seconds long.

Now, using your figures 9.2seconds is 2.2 seconds more than the 7 seconds for fuel, so this (2.2 seconds) is the time lost compared to Barrichello in real terms.

Assuming Rubens backed off at the end of the race, he was about 4-6 seconds ahead of Lewis, so would have been about 2 or 3 seconds ahead even without the botched stop.

The only race in F1 history I believe, where the only finishers were the three drivers on the podium (IIRC the fourth placed driver was classified but had retired a lap before the end).
Motorhomes, sliding doors and wild Spanish applause 7:44pm on 11 May 2009 On the subject of the end of show montages - I've liked the laid-back style of the music used, it bridges the gap between the excitement and tension of F1 back to Sunday afternoon in the real world. The editing of the pictures to the music is fantastic as well.

On a side note Andrew, If a '97-'08 race was to be the winner (where only the short highlights package is available), would you also show a full episode of Grand Prix for a the highest placed pre-96 race?
Senna by way of Touching the Void 7:34pm on 29 Apr 2009 Both Touching the Void and Last King were good films (although Forest Whitaker's performance in the latter played a big part in it's success) so I'm more optimistic than some of the other comments. I also heard that FOM are involved, and are going to be providing some 'unseen' footage from their vaults of Senna racing. Sounds quite promising.
A new look for F1 1:04pm on 05 Mar 2009 I think it looks great overall. The only problem is on a widescreen display at high resolution, there are big blocks of white either side of the page - on most BBC Sport pages these blend in with the look, but with the black background they stick out. Any way they can be coloured black to fit in?
BBC HD Update: DOG Patrol 4:40pm on 01 Mar 2009 With regard to the six nations, why is it that Ireland and Italy home games are not in HD? I understand it's the BBC doing coverage at both these venues, and a lot of the games involve home nations (e.g. is Italy vs. Wales any less worthy of being in HD than say Scotland vs. Italy?)

Also any chance you could sort something out with your colleagues at France 2 to get HD feeds of the French home games next season? I believe they broadcast the games in HD on their own service.
BBC HD: Update and Christmas Schedule 3:47pm on 28 Nov 2008 BikeNutt: To the best of my knowledge MotoGP on Eurosport HD is upscaled SD. The host broadcaster Dorna did not make a HD feed available last year.
