World 100m final - a survival guide 11:34am on 16 Aug 2009 Powell is a huge choker in the major finals, expect him to be fastest in the semi's but then finish 5th/6th in the final. I wouldn't put it past Dwain to maybe sneak a silver.

Broad's Ashes spot no longer secure 7:49pm on 03 Aug 2009 You say that Broad's runs are only a "bonus" but take a look at Australia's line-up, only Ben Hilfenhaus is one who cannot score good runs, the rest are no slouches with the bat, so down the order you need people like Broad and Swann who will hit quick runs and build a partnership and maybe steady the ship if needed after a collapse.

As for his bowling, why is he suddenly being critiscised, he is bowling well, notice when the team is struggling and toiling in the field, it is him who in the end takes a vital wicket which HE hopes would lift the team.

There is no need to make changes, and Broad will learn from this critisicm but he needs to stay in the team.

Getting away with it 11:16pm on 12 Jul 2009 The kicker to Australia is that Monty Panesar is one of the worst batters ever. Maybe complacency kicked in when he walked towards the crease, but a terrific last wicket stand of what? 10? Not the highest scoring ever but one of the most vital.

Cricket is the funny old game, at tea earlier today looked like the Aussies where heading to England dancing in their kangaroos, now Strauss and co have to capitalate on this confidence boost.

Fergie fouls up 7:46pm on 28 May 2009 Too much has been made of the line-up. It was the same as against Arsenal, just Giggs replacing the suspended Fletcher.

Maybe with Fletcher there he wouldn't have come forward with Ronaldo, and maybe stopping Iniesta and Xavi would have been easier.

Oh well, finals come and finals go, you cannot win them all, and my props go to Barcelona for being so good, I just hope that this gives fans perspective as to how important Darren Fletcher is to us this year.
Anderson provides midfield balance 08:40am on 26 May 2009 How is Anderson possibly over-rated? Man Utd fans know that his attributes are physical presence, pace, passing ability, marking ability, work rate and eagerness to learn.

We also understand that he needs to work on his attacking, his shooting and his aggression.

If you think we over-hype him because we think he's going to be a future star, then you're wrong, because he really is, you can see that he's going to put the work in and that it will pay off for him.

As for Nani, he's not over-rated, he did well last season, we thought he was great, he did badly this season, and we realise he's not up to scratch.

If your going around saying he's "over-rated" then at least learn what it means or do some research...

So the fact that he killed off Lampard, Gerrard and Fabregas in high circumstances means nothing? When Essien did it it was raved about for weeks, Anderson did it and not a whimper, and he's 20 years old. You clearly have never seen him and just look at his goals scored.
Anderson provides midfield balance 7:10pm on 25 May 2009 The thing about Anderson is that I don't think that Fergie knows his best position. Being such a young lad I don't think Fergie wants to put him in attacking-midfield where Ronaldo and Rooney roam. He saw in a couple of games the physical presence he has(enough to keep Fabregas and Gerrard out in certain games) and his passing ability so puts him in the centre midfield.

And ideal midfield for us would be Ronaldo and Park on the flanks, Hargreaves keeping the DM and then Anderson bombing forward in a diamond type formation. The reason that won't be used is because Carrick and Fletcher continue to put in very solid performances.
