England World Twenty20 player ratings 00:27am on 16 Jun 2009 for a team that won only 2 games out of 5, those are generous scores for some of the players, dont lets fall for any spin that England played well in this tournament by bouncing India out. Colly still hasnt cracked the captaincy + playing well lark, or picking when to chase and when to set a target, and a number of times had to be reminded to move fielders who were standing in the wrong places.

the only plus points were Foster excellent behind the stumps, Sidebottoms return to form (though how long will that last) and Bopara showing you can play a decent innings without always slogging it.

the rest were as expected, sometimes great, sometimes bad, always infuriating.

Eoin Morgan should at least get a score for being the best substitute fielder who mysteriously kept appearing on the field in the final overs of the games.
Blog me up, blog me down 7:21pm on 22 May 2009 Im with "antimode" Angels and Demons is a lot better than Dr Kermode is crediting it with. Yes the plot is silly, Ayelet Zurer is woefully underused, and if you cant spot how the film will end after 5mins then theres no hope for you. But its alot of fun, often comedic (though perhaps unintentionally) its a good adaption of a not very good book, but as a film it works quite well. Now Star Trek has many of the same flaws, and several more besides, and if your moaning about the way a film has been lit, can anyone say "lens flare"!!!! So why is it felt to be vastly superior ? is it because previous Star Trek films have been so rotten that anything remotely resembling a semi decent film is good, whilst everyone has now read the DaVinci Code and recognised Dan Brown as the airport novelist that he is. FWIW I hated the DaVinci Code film, but I think "Richie Cunningham" has actually made a decent popcorn movie out of Angels & Demons
Glory hunting is not for me 9:19pm on 03 May 2009 two points, first Jake if you were born in Peterborough (source wikipedia) howcome you dont follow the POSH instead, because if you moved to norwich around 1987, thats just after theyd won the second division (championship), then finished twice high enough in the 1st division (premiership) to have qualified for the UEFA cup had English teams been allowed in the competition at the time, and then had two FA cup semi finals, all before the 1992-93 season which is by most Norwich city fans counted as the best season ever, so thats not a bad set of seasons for a "non glory hunting" fan. Course if you had a been POSH fan youd be celebrating promotion to the Championship, not relegation from it.

secondly the whole reason Glen Roeder ended up picking so many loan players, and the whole reason you ended up with a corporate guest greeter as a manager for the last part of the season, is Norwich just dont have any money,you didnt have the money to buy players, let alone quality players to stage a run on promotion, so Roeder used the loan market to bolster the team because he had no choice but to use short term fixes, and his fractious relationship with the fans was because none of them seemed to understand that, and he got fed up trying to explain it, then he gets the sack because the board lost their nerve in face of the fans opposition.
