Parrhasios - totally support your views on the word 'bungalow'.

Its an ugly, urban carbuncle of a word. Yep, Im seeing UPVC windows, pebbledash, faux fur cushions, eye level grills & 70s chic gone terribly wrong.
Abigails party is springing to mind, with cocktail sausages, pineapple/cheese on sticks and Demis Roussos.
My fave words are (in no particular order) Amethyst, Acolyte & Louche. Mmmmmmmmmm.
I try to fit then into a sentence whenever I can, its not easy tho :-)

Is that an obscure reference to the Flying Spaghetti Monster of previous threads?? Was Bob Marley a penne or fusilli man? I think we should be told...... :-)
BTW Marcus there are no very strong arguments for the death penalty. Jeez louise.

Ok, see - this is why I was never gonna be a fully-signed up catholic!! (one of the reasons, anyway).

I HATE this superstitious cr*p! Also annoyed by people who drop something on the ground, 'bless it' with the sign of the cross then its safe to eat lol.
Similarly those who say things like: 'a woman whistling makes Our Lady cry' .....er, What?????
If all Our Lady has to worry about is women whistling, frankly Im worried............
The crossover between Paganism and Catholicism is glaringly obvious at times like this, and I find it ridiculous and childish.

I find it a bit silly to be honest, but not that offensive in the scheme of things.............surely.......???

The Christian Hippy AKA The Puritan is one scary dude. I hope he's not in the teaching profession or anything lol. Basically I hope he doesn't have any access to the minds of any young people who could conceivably swallow any of the complete rubbish he comes off with....

ps: Can I nominate The Christian Hippy for most ridiculously missnamed poster of the year? :-)
Tony Curtis brings some Hollywood realism to BBC radio 5:30pm on 29 May 2009
I was lucky enough to be at the Ulster Hall this week and met Tony Curtis!
He was great, altho quite hard of hearing and also obviously found our NI accent a little difficult. He did use the F word on a few occasions, but to be honest it certainly wasn't a problem for most of those present. Altho I think the lady who brought her children along may have regretted doing so...!
He's a guy who grew up on the streets of Manhattan, and you get the impression he knew how to look after himself :-)
A very cool guy, and his wife Jilly was lovely too. He was happy to pose for photos and sign books.
Im not sure the girl interviewing him was really up to the job (altho I wonder if anyone would be!). He's a feisty one ok, and I think she was occasionally a little bit intimidated :-)
All in all - a really entertaining evening in the company of a Hollywood Star and a gentleman. Thanks Tony xx
