Briatore bows out in unsavoury style 00:38am on 17 Sep 2009 Shame on Symonds, Briatore and Piquet. What they did was unforgiveable. To let a driver crash. Dangering his life, his co-racers life, the stewards and fans. All for a podium finish. Formula 1 is a great sport. But a sport with amples of ways to cheat. A sport that needs the trust of its fans. Or simply it will not survive. I have stopped watching athletics apart from the BOLT races, because i find it hard to trust any of them. I want to, and i know many are honest athletes but until anti-doping measures begin to really work i will avoid it. The same with F1. I have not missed a race this season. The BBC has kept me glued with its top class coverage. But i will boycott the next race. It may be childish or simply stupid and really it will make no difference but if there are any F1 bosses reading this, beware. Do not cheat. Make great cars.

When i go into a book shop and see a book with the words, 'booker winner' or 'nominated' it does capture my attention. With hundreds to choose from and unable to read all the blurbs this is a method of differentiating. However i think the short list is too short.
An inconvenient truth about global warming 6:24pm on 16 Sep 2009 This is very confusing indeed. How reliable is the science of 'climate predictions'? One study says rise in 2C by 2050 another says rise in 5C. Another says a fall, another says no change. The consenus however is that there will be a rise. But by how much? Since each degree difference requires a rapid change in how governments should act. The danger is that if we fund for a 5C rise this will hamper global economic growth, resulting in many of the poorest suffering. One way of solving this is to say that the oil will run out by 2030. Causing oil companies to invest in alternate energies and governments will act. This may cause another wall street crash but isn't it worth doing so?

One the one hand i think you are a little bit of a lunatic but on the other very excited to see you achieve the goals. I wonder when you finish this if you feel it to better than cyling around the world. I cant think of anything that would beat the latter. The whole of Scotland is behind you, burn those calories and be safe (especially from the bears)
Andy Murray - Scot or Brit? 2:37pm on 03 Jul 2009 Wimbledon is after all 'the all ENGLAND club'. So no doubt that some Englishmen will not cheer as loud as the rest if Murray wins. However i am a Scot and i will be watching very closely and cheering Andy on. Perhaps this addresses something a bit more fundimental. Scots are more confortable with their identity than the English. In Scotland i see the Scottish way nearly every day, if it is a bagpipe in the high street, shortbread with tea in a cafe or ceilidh at Christmas. But i feel British too, and that we are a union. So i say grow up to all those Murray haters, and also grow up in part to Andy Murray. How silly was he to say 'support anyone but England in the world cup'. But i can understand that as that was and is general feeling. Especially with all my friends. It is just a rivalry in nations, nothing more. Go on Murray
White House interview 6:13pm on 02 Jun 2009 I thought it was an average interview. It seemed that Mr Webb did not push Obama enough, was quite soft on him. To take on Obama, you have to be quite an intellect. Perhaps Stephern Saucker should have been given a go. I do not get why, an interview with Obama is as important as it sounds. Surely any intereview would get this wide a coverage. Plus, what is the reach of BBC Arabic and BBC persia.

Will he stay or will he go? 11:47am on 18 May 2009 He has lost the last ounce of authority he had. What really annoys me, is the gap between this world and the real world. The system needs reform. It needs to accountable, transparent, it needs a new face. Just because its tradition the speaker isnt removed, does not mean he can not.

p.s Here is a solution, pay mps twice as much, and scrap expenses. DONE. It is what happens in many other countries. Or why not have a 'halls of residence'. Make them have rooms, like at university. They need to be trusted.

I do not think fungibility is a word. But you can not say the BBC does not educate the people of Great Britain

How 3D films are made 6:01pm on 14 May 2009 I was rather shocked that the studio will now make all films in 3D. Has the recession not touched the film industry like it has devestated so many others. It's expensive right, to do 3D? I mean with the new trek movie out and extremely expensive productions coming out, why is it that this industry has come out ok?

And perhaps on the effect of the recession on culture and arts as a whole. I am a bit disappointed at the lack of productions or perhaps films, or even artists who have not protrayed what has happened over the last 18 months. It has changed the way we do finance, the way economic DNA but not the way we do film or art.
