Appalling article by the Herald, can expect much else from that rag these days.

Deal or no deal 11:50am on 15 Dec 2009 Have also watched the Newsnight interview, Glenn clearly a product of our wonderful education system where respect for others is not given any consideration. As gedguy says am all for giving politicians a hard time but it can still be done respectfully.
Deal or no deal 09:50am on 14 Dec 2009 Back to the education debate, in my opinion the main reason for smaller class sizes is to give the teachers more of an opporutnity to control the class and hopefully that will imprive the learning. In my primary years class sizes were 30+ but there was no problem with discipline, teachers were both respected and feared but you learned. Surely there has to be a happy medium between where we were then and where we are now.

With regard to the teacher numbers, lets remember that the majority of these teaching places were taken up under the previous administration and at least the current administration is trying to take steps to reduce the number of training places in line with projected requirements.

It is a sad day when the governemnt is having to give on school meals to placate councils and get them to employ more teachers, especially when they oriinally had the funding in the first place. Whilst it will employ more teachers - and i am all for that, how will they determine who will have to pay for school meals? Will it be means tested? or an across the board pay up or dont get fed, further fuelling poverty - as councils can take their own stance on the matter no doubt that will be the stance that Glasgow council will take.

As for opposition parties now rounding on the government saying they have reneged on further pledges - get a grip, get real and recognise the dire situation this country is in and start making an effort to improve our lot instead of resorting to childish comments.
'Not quite' D-Day 11:00am on 11 Dec 2009 Re expenses scandal, if some MP's are too stupid to insure their property why should we the tax payer pick up the tab? Just a thought.
'Not quite' D-Day 09:07am on 11 Dec 2009 Can anyone explain to me how Iain Gray could question the First Minister on supposedly billions of pounds of money available to the government from cancelled schemes when he has been party to ratifying the budgets? Surely he has a very good idea where the money went, is this just another attempt at sensationalist point scoring?

An oversight! Who is he trying to kid, if there hadn't been a complaint it would have stayed like that. Well done for bringing it to their attention, only part still omited are the greens and independent presumably they dont matter.

Clearly no semblence of quality control at the beeb.
