Food for thought. 7:04pm on 10 Aug 2009 We need to reduce the population urgently.

Child benefits should be paid for only the first 2 children.

All immigration should be stopped and the law on illegals vigorously enforced.

Water Companies should be re-nationalised and the current profits used to conserve water by repairing the distribution system: constructing reservoirs: and setting up a national water grid..

Imported food should be subjected to a high tariff the proceeds of which should be used to encourage UK farming and horticulture.

The old 200 mile territorial waters limit should be restored and fishing restricted to UK fishermen to control fish stocks.
Who'll be shot when banks misbehave? 12:52pm on 02 Aug 2009 I caught Robert Peston's interview with Lord Myners on TV and whereas recent converts often make the most zealous evangelists, his Lordship's responses made me wonder whether he is yet a true believer

His failure to admit any culpability in the Fred Goodwin pension fiasco and a general obfuscation regarding his own similarly lavish remuneration whilst at the heart of the City hierarchy led me to wonder whether I was watching a smooth-talking poacher rather than one who has genuinely turned gamekeeper.

The choice of Lord Myners as their City Tsar,can only confirm that (given his previous) the Government is less than serious in their professed policy to control their erstwhile banking heroes.

And one is not surprised that it appears little has changed in the Exchange and its denizens are simply waiting for the storm to pass before getting back to business as usual.
Who would you like to hear from on the blog? 12:47pm on 25 Jul 2009 Instead of the relatively trivial matters suggested on the Feedback web page I think its about time the BBC Trust was held accountable for some fundamental policies -

I would like to suggest to Sir Michael Lyons that the BBC Trustees should include a majority of ordinary people.

I propose this because the BBC is not impartial. Nor does it reflect or respond to the views of the vast majority of licence-fee-payers.

As others 'insiders', like Andrew Marr and Jeremy Paxman - have pointed out , it is riddled with institutional liberal elitism.

The Trust has failed to tackle this fundamental deficiency because its members are part of the same social class that runs the BBC and are just as remote from the millions of ordinary licence fee payers as the executives and producers.

This must be put right before the BBC loses all support. And the only way it can be corrected is by having a majority of randomly selected ordinary people as Trustees to guide the BBC back being to the respected institution it once was.
The PM Glass Box. 7:58pm on 17 Jul 2009 Eddie, in immigration interviews you never ask the question I want answered - Who is paying the legal costs of suspects particularly foreign nationals ? Could it be the poor old British taxpayer via legal aid ?

And how much is all this legal stuff court costs, etc costing us ? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's concerned.
The AM Glass Box. 06:38am on 17 Jul 2009 By what we hear from Lord Myners ( is he the bloke who passed Fred Goodwin's daylight-robbery pension ?) it seems our politicians are still in thrall to the City slickers and the cosy club goes on as if nothing had happened.

If the Government doesn't wake up and do something positive like raking back some of the bankers bonuses in the form of a windfall tax.

This is my view -

What are these giant parsnips doing walking round the Town ?

Poking out of baggy shorts that are almost falling down:

Pale as drowned cadavers, varicose and blotched:

Ugly and misshapen as if Frankenstein had botched

More attempts to make some men, then thrown his rejects in the sea.

Now they wade ashore each day to upset you and me.

In contrast there are bodies in other parts of Town

Shrivelled like ancient kippers and David Dickinson brown:

Scantily attired: bedecked in trinkets cheap as chips :

Blond streaked hair: botoxed flesh: and red, red, red, red lips.

Flaunted as if fifty years had not flown fleeting by.

Mummified relics of lives now past. Uneasy on the eye.

I know it's not Monté Carlo, our little seaside Town .

But wouldn't it be nice if it could only take the crown -

Not as the best dressed - but the most dressed holiday resort,

Where only the young and lovely wear shorts that are too short.

You see, its not bodies I object to just those... well - in decline.

No, I've nothing against bodies just the ones that look like mine.

Can you 'spin' in a Dorset accent? 06:09am on 24 Jun 2009 The spokesman from the Equality and Human Rights Commission confirmed all too clearly what many of us believe that in the eyes of the Commission all men are Equal unless they are white and all have Human Rights unless they are members of the indigenous population.

I suspect their latest antic will add another 900,000 votes to those they sneer at through this action. A conspiracy theorist might well believe this is a deliberate ploy to stir up trouble and give the chatteratti another cause to bleat about.

Can anyone tell me where I can find details of the EHRC's funding, please. (There is no link of their web site surprise !) For why should I pay to support a totally biased organisation that is part of the liberal establishment:promoting political correctness and so antagonistic to my well-being ?
'My neighbour is an enthusiastic campaigner for the BNP...' 07:40am on 13 Jun 2009 Is it stating the blooming obvious to say that the real difference between Allan and Tom is one of age.

I was about Tom's age when immigration was getting under way and I can remember taking the multicultural (though we didn't have the word then) view and arguing with my father.

Now I am about Alan's age and voted BNP for the first time on much the same grounds as he gives for supporting them.

I'd like to think that this is the wisdom of experience versus the natural naivety of youth. What's the saying about being left wing when you are young but being right wing when you are mature ? I think a lot of old white working-class lefties like me have travelled the road to Damascus and seen the light.

I wonder if in 50 years time Tom will look back at his juvenillia with some embarrassment assuming of course he is still free to think anything.

By the way why do BNP detractors assume that the over 900,000 BNP voters are too stupid to understand what they are doing, while they - the lefties - are so clever ?

The Controllees being released by the High Court are mostly foreign ?. One even Iraqi ?

Who is paying their legal fees ? Legal aid ? Therefore the British taxpayer ?

Who is supporting their wives and kids ? - The British taxpayer ?

They should be deported immediately.

If they are so dodgy they need watching, who let them stay in the first place ?

Yet again we are being ripped off by the Human Rights do -gooders and their lawyers

No wonder people vote for the BNP
