What was HBOS doing? 12:15pm on 05 Aug 2009 There is anecdotal evidence that the Halifax is still offering 100% mortgages, in a different way from how previously set up but as following example:
First time buyer pays £99 deposit plus solicitors fees, but shared equity with housebuilder 25% of property value to be repaid either on sale or after 10 years. So assuming said person stays in house for 10 years and value of said house rises 100% - lets keep it simple original price £100,000, then value in 10 years £200,000 but owes house builder £50,000 - aren't we just going to see a repeat of where we are now.

West Brom: Three-quarters mutual 08:34am on 12 Jun 2009 Robert, can you find out just what is going on with PIBS and Perpetual Subordinated Bonds of the various building societies and now banks. I've been met with a wall of silence from certain fixed interest fund managers and I'm sure you're just the man to investigate.
That bloomin' pension again 2:10pm on 03 Apr 2009 I'm amazed Sir Philip thought he could get HMRC to add another change in pension legislation when we've had 700 changes and thousands of pages since 1995. For those of us dealing with pensions day in and day out we knew this.
Should the Bank of England buy shares? 6:02pm on 12 Mar 2009 Robert - have you tried to buy any shares recently? It is almost as frozen up as the banks' lending policies!
