Avoid scam festival tickets 8:18pm on 09 Mar 2009 Great piece on ticket scams tonight. I work a reputable ticket agent based at The NEC in Birmingham. We sell tickets for not only concerts at our Birmingham venues and arenas but also now for many events and festivals across the UK.

I would suggest customers look for a S.T.A.R. Logo on any websites they use. It's an industry body we are members of which is also involved in lobbying the government for possible legislation.

Our call centre has taken many calls tonight from customers following the Watchdog programme checking that we are legitimate (we are open till 9pm) and I am happy to say we have reassured them.

Unfortunately as a venue box office we see more and more disappointed customers at our venues on the night of a concert waiting to meet someone with their tickets who simply don't turn up.

Please please check you are using a reputable agent.
