Aussies send Ashes warning 09:02am on 12 Mar 2009 I do think that English conditions will affect the 2009 ashes series. Australias' new bowlers Siddle, Hilfenhaus and to a lesser degree Johnson have little knowledge of English conditions and it will take them time to get used to the lack of pace and exaggerated movment off the pitch. Again the first test will be pivitol. If we give the Aussie new boys confidence with a win who knows what might happen? If we should win the first test (unlikely I know) or even get a decent draw That could adversely stunt the new Assie bowlers confidence. Almost an impossible thing to do where the Assie psyche is concerned.
England player ratings 08:21am on 12 Mar 2009 I totally agree that Graeme Swann was the biggest success of the West Indies tour for England but why did he have to wait untill he was 29 before the selectors finally picked him? He has shown promise in county cricket for years.
Grassroots suffer from Stanford demise 08:06am on 03 Mar 2009 I think in the present financial climate it may be just aswell to let the dust settle over the Sanford saga before too many opinions can be expressed. I think we should just be grateful for any money that gets put into cricket via buisness and wealthy individuals especially Texan ones.
