What Mercedes buy-out of Brawn could mean 3:31pm on 16 Nov 2009 About the drivers, I think Mercedes are looking to Sebastian Vettel, who will be available from 2012 ... He's the German driver they really want.

I hope all the new teams make it to Melbourne, but with all the verbal attacks from Montezemolo I wouldn't be surprised if only half show up, but then that's still better than the corporate dinosaur teams that will be there.

Changes to BBC Sport on the red button 7:34pm on 23 Oct 2009 Why does 'Free'view have so many pay channels on it, the BBC should lobby ofcom to get all the topup, gambling, chatline garbage removed, I would have thought it more important for the BBC to be on the number 1 platform for terrestrial TV, rather than abandoning a red button stream and poncing off to satellite.

And he told the pit wall his brakes were fine, just because Buttons brakes were fading Brawn slowed Rubens down.

But these tactics are common up and down the pit lane, so just think how bad it would get with 3 car teams!

Costs and politics to decide the future for Kers 10:06am on 23 Aug 2009 Andrew you're wrong in your statement that "The teams had agreed to abandon the systems (KERS) at the end of this year". FOTA teams agreed to abandon KERS, and in fact one of the main reasons given by Dr. Goschel of BMW for their exit was FOTA's or more precisely Montezemolo's instance in scrapping KERS.

Your argument about night racing in Singapore being environmentally bad is wrong, as the majority of F1 viewers are in Europe, staging the race at 2:00pm Singapore time would mean millions of Europeans getting up early, switching on TVs lights and kettles etc, and then also watching the re-run, this far out-weighs the use of lights to help show the race at a European friendly time, it has been estimated that if all the suitable races were run at night and under lights this would save 14,880 MWh, which is nearly enough energy to power the whole of Montenegro :)

Whether night races are exciting is another issue, but they are certainly more environmentally friendly than 100s of football teams flying half way around the world to play friendly games.

I'm not deciding! Just like I didn't decide to spend £800 on the off chance a retired driver might grace some track with his presence!

As for Valencia, it's very much like Montreal, except it's only 2 and a half hours away, has similar and fun nightlife, and some excellent beaches.

Just like the 'free ride' media whipping themselves into a frenzy over Luca di Montezemolo's obvious and blatant attempt to circumvent the testing ban with Schumacher, they're the kind of media F1 could do without too.

Can't US fans tune in for repeats if they're too uninterested to watch it live, that's what the rest of us have to do if we want to watch sports like the Super Bowl or IRL.

I'd love to see a race in the USA, but not at the expense of countries that actually want a race, and are willing to build fantastic circuits so they can have a race.
