RBS board to quit if chancellor vetoes £1.5bn in bonuses 00:05am on 03 Dec 2009 If I borrowed money from RBS and had spare cash to pay it back but decided to spend it on a car and a holiday would they understand - No I don't think so.

RBS, pay back what you owe us and then split whats left amongst yourselves.
Why did Bank of England keep shtoom? 11:27pm on 25 Nov 2009 My business bank phoned me today:
"Mr XXX, just ringing for a chat and to say that we are happy with how your account with us is going.....blah blah blah"

I replied:
"Good I'm glad and how is that loan we made available to you. Have you managed to pay it back in full yet. No, ok can I see some projections for this."

What a joke this whole thing is.
Is Britain growing yet? 00:03am on 06 Nov 2009 I cannot remember when a politician last fixed something here in the UK and don't hold much hope for the present situation.

Foreign policy is used to make them look active when they are achieving nothing at home.

They mean absolutely nothing outside academia and the city of London.
Surveys and reports are just the cities way of creating and keeping jobs for the boys. They add no real value to the overall economy whatsoever, yet cost thousands upon thousands to produce.

The only thing that people in the real world care about is whether they have a job, are likely to keep it and will they get paid.

Who funds such reports? I believe that when a report is published, by law, they should be made to reveal who paid for it. Perhaps then these reports will hold less weight and force journalists do what they are paid to do - report the facts and not try to force their opinion on others.

Much of what the blog says is not worth the read anymore.

It amazes me that comment posters have a greater sense of what is right for this country than any reporters, banks or politicians.

We need a written constitution in this country. It's not just the Labour party that is broken it's the whole structure of government.
Benefit cuts consensus? 01:39am on 06 Oct 2009 I agree that there may be fraud within the benefits system that needs to be sorted, but believe this problem is being tackled from the wrong end.
This country needs new industry to provide fulfilling jobs that pay a decent wage because training is useless without it. If there were decent jobs that paid a reasonable wage people would get off their "workshy" butts.

And while we are on the subject of "workshy" what is to be done to tackle the house of lords and all those politicians who cannot be bothered to turn up at parliament.
Politicans need to set an example to the young through hard work.

When will a politician have the balls to stand up and admit the real problems in this country instead of just regurgitating the same old policies over and over again to win votes. Politicians are playing to the under educated as no one with any basic understanding of how this country works would believe this dribble.

Politics should be taught in every school and those that do not understand the implications of their vote should be made informed before voting.

Let's give the unemployed jobs within politics.

Labour bets on bashing bankers 6:45pm on 29 Sep 2009 I cannot be bothered with this blog anymore. We have gone in circles many times. It seems that the posters here know more about what is right than either of the political parties and Mr Peston combined.

So why hasn't a main politican come forward and jumped on all these things that we have been saying for months? The total silence from any opposition is the most worrying aspect for me.
Is it because they feel that GB is doing such a fine job of wrecking his chances that they just sit back and let him waffle or something deeper and more sinister like we haven't got a fighting chance anyway.

Has Labour used up all the Conservative aces? Has Labour sussed the Conservatives and used all the tricks that they would have if they had been in power?

Look, all I want is to live in a country that has a fair legal and monetary policy for all its people and not just those higher up the social ladder.

Have we had this from Labour, no. Will we get this from the Conservatives, no.

Will someone else please come forward now before it's too late. Please...

This statement is offensive to every small retailer that has suffered from a huge drop in customers and the squeezing of bank credit.

I ask you to withdrawn this statement or perhaps your blog should be moderated.
