Review of the week 3:36pm on 13 Nov 2009 From Northwich Victoria to Carter USM via any means possible, was exhausted reading this, quality item though, some good analogies, especially the Yeovil ans Oxford one, how times change.

Keep this kind of blog coming Chris, much more interesting than constantly reading the (supposedly) top writers / editors and their inane comments about the top 4...

If the city fans would have been as bad to Dunne as Arsenal's fans were to Adebayor then i'm sure Dunne would have celebrated, respect is a two way thing, Arsenal fans had lost that respect, fair play to Adebayor.
Will Upton Park violence scupper 2018 bid? 10:18am on 27 Aug 2009 The answer is in the blog from Gordon, come down hard on West Ham and Millwall, make them take responsibility for the incidents that happened.
Godon alludes to the fact that at Charleroi and that FIFA subsequently came down hard on England, threatening expulsion, and what happened, the FA got tough (banning orders etc).
#41 alludes to the fact that these wern't real West Ham fans, i am supposing that in Charleroi that they wern't real England football fans either, but the FA got the message.
By hitting both clubs where it hurts (pockets, possible suspensions), the clubs will have no choice (like the FA had) but to sort out it's problem element.

The football league (their comp) could have helped on this game as well, problem matches in the leagues kick off at 12:00 ish at weekends to combat drinking, wasn't this an option in this case?
Feel the Urn! 4:34pm on 09 Jul 2009 It's a good job it's only two teams that qualify, or else we wouldn't be innit, cos were not as good as we think we are (and i don't mean just at the cricket !!).
Good blog Robbo, but i think youv'e talked the bowling dept up a bit, just seen the score, and they look to be batting better than we did, pieterson included, could be a long spell in the field this summer.
Only other event i can think of with only two teams allowed to enter is the Boat Race, is it an English thing or what ????

Is it the case nowadays that the batter is the wicketkeeper rather than the wicketkeeper can bat a bit, seems to be that a good wicketkeeper is losing out for the average wicketkeeper who is better at batting.
This may be a sound argument, until the lesser keeper puts down the chances that win/turn matches.
Leave batting to the top six, keepers and bowlers should contribute, not be depended on,

me thinks that when it gets to a certain level of sport on the box at the weekend that they should automatically close the shops and give us all a break for escorting (taxi ing) the family around.

All weekend i was like a cat on a tin roof, just waiting to hear the immortal words...... "i think that'll do for now", just to get back and see the lions, f1, golf, cricket, etc.... bliss

More of this in a few weeks when the real open comes to town, none of this callin it off cos it's spittin, real golf, real weather... the sofas booked.

Nice to see a journalist comment on the positive that capello has said and about what England did, rather than the idiotic twosome that were commenting on the tv.
To listen to them speak just before half time, we were so lucky to be leading, we were disjointed, being given the runaround, and made to look stupid,and even lucky not to be behind, even though we were leading!!! At that time Khazakstan had no shots on target to Englands five, how does messrs Chumpion and Twaddle want to work that one out.
More positive spin is needed for the media when England are playing,This match was never going to be a stroll in the park, as most international away matches are not easy anymore, but England, for the most part contained them early on, and from 30 mins on did a good job. Keep up the realism Phil, and we can only hope the tv presenters to do the same thing, and not moan that we are not winning by a country mile all the time.
Robbo's nightmare clockwatch 2:53pm on 22 May 2009 It will be good to see Hull stay up, for two reasons, one is to let Phil Brown loose on Arsene Wenger again next season, and t'other is to hear all the geordies moaning all summer about how fergie stitched them up.
