How will the Premier League unfold? 09:17am on 11 Aug 2009 Agree Liverpool look good when all are fit - but we all know that doesn't happen. Any injury or loss of form to Torres or Gerrard and they are out. Man U have lost depth in their squad, as have Arsenal. Sure Chelsea have not bought significantly, but they have not lost anyone like the others, and that depth and consistency I think we see them with the title this season.
2005 and all that 10:17am on 30 Jun 2009 As an Aussie in London I have found it amusing how often the 2005 series has been talked about, while the following whitewash is ignored! Not to take anything away from 2005, you thoroughly deserved the win, and I actually perversely enjoyed watching a few of our arrogant boys being taken down a notch (Pontng especially).
But perhaps you should be looking at ways to win THIS series? Australia is rebuilding and is relatively weak, and you have the chance to do it again. But you will never manage it by looking back over your shoulders ...
Is Owen still worth a gamble? 2:49pm on 15 Jun 2009 It comes down to two factors - hunger and fitness. He is a class player with the right skills and instinct, but will he be fit, and will he regain the hunger to graft into a team - a la Beckham.

Personally I see him at a lower-mid table team, where he can get some games. I'd love to see him at a club like Everton or Villa, as I think the atmosphere there would revive him no end, but I don't think they will risk it with their ambitions.

Offer him a 1 year contract on low wages and high bonuses, with an option on a 2nd and I think you'd find it worth it.
