Wenger wins in madcap weekend 09:18am on 14 Dec 2009 Andrei Arshavin Strikes Again!!!
It's Arsenal's now to capitalize on the game in hand and close down on Chelsea and Man Utd.

I can understand the Liverpool fans arguing the case of Gerrard penalty, but what can one do when the rub of luck is going against the team which has enjoyed it aplenty in last 2 seasons.

Well played Arsenal. Now the time is to look out for that striker who is good and hasnt yet played C'League this year. A few names that come to mind immediately are David Villa, Jose Antonio Reyes, Julio Baptista???
That was horrid, Henry 06:24am on 20 Nov 2009 All - it is very easy to criticize Henry for not showing up a gentleman that he was known all these years.
Arsenal Fans - What's wrong in forgiving Henry for what he did other night with the Irish? Yes, I know he has let us all down with a deliberate hand ball and he also did celebrate the goal. But he aint so cruel. He is right when he says the official didnt catch it. The Irish must have played to the whistle. Shay Given didnt even try to save the Gallas header from going into net. He along with fellow defenders just ran to the ref appealing for handball. Lets go back to Arsenal vs Barca Champions League Final. What happened there - wasnt Henry deliberately fouled 7-8 times by Puyol? 4th minute Lehman sent off instead of Yellow, why?

For one last time, I would urge fans to stop calling Henry a cheat. Please have a look at the system. its FIFA/UEFA/FA's to come to a decision of involving usage of video ref's.

Also, pertaining to this match.. i still dont see why we cannot have a rematch with Henry suspended for next 5 international games which means he misses atleast the first round at WC. That would be a fair punishment in my book. FFF & FIFA should approve ROI FAs petition and have the rematch before Dec 4th world cup draw.
Phil McNulty Q&A 06:47am on 12 Nov 2009 citizen - what kind of Gunners Fan you are? You do not have belief in the ability of this team to win the league this year. Like the fans of other clubs always want their clubs to do; you too want Wenger to sign a combative defensive midfielder. I ask you one question - cant you see that market is over priced and there arent any defensive midfielder available on transfer? All teams understand the importance of CDM role and hence no body is ready to let go players in that role. Only player who Arsenal can buy at the moment is our beloved Patrick Vieira and he too will have to come and play a mentor-player job. He wont get matches week in - week out, if he does get then why sing praises of Song today. We need to bring in Vieira types just to help out the young Gunners in DM role and may be play Vieira in FA Cups and imp EPL games and allow the already blooming players fulfill their true potential.

I think this team is very much balanced and they know what has to be done on the pitch to produce results. Wenger has got it right this time and is correct in believing this side will win the league this year. Do we still need to buy in January window? - Yes, probably another Right Back. Sergio Ramos anyone??
Brazil's new breed of guard dog 2:49pm on 09 Nov 2009 Gilberto was a good player for Arsenal but was always over shadowed by presence of Vieira. The season after Vieira departed to Juve, the key midfield role was given to Gilberto (the then senior player in team) with full trust in his abilities and he lived up to expectations by taking good penalties and holding up play. We did reach to the Finals of C'League, but that wasnt sufficient enough. Arsenal are always known for their brand of passing, flowing football at fast pace. And this could be achieved with only fresh n youth legs developing at Arsenal Academy. Hence Wenger got rid of Gilberto.

In case of Brazil, Dunga has again put a lot of faith in Gilberto and perhaps setting up the Brazil team that way instead of the traditional flair and attacking players in the team. Dunga is trying to adopt the European set up because thats where the powerhouse of football lies today.

Robbo - Can we have a laugh riot blog based on weekend performances (2 own goals in Arsenal game, the Citeh draw against Burnley, Greater Manchester's defeat at Stamford Bridge. (Fletch was doing gr8 in the game. Deco started playing 11 just to even up with Ryan Giggs, else it would have been a huge complex factor for United.

Benitez on the brink? 1:56pm on 05 Nov 2009 There should not be any debate on Arsenal's status on the world footballing map. True, they havent won anything for 4 years but they have always produced football any opposition could be wary of. I can hardly remember few games which Gunners played too badly to lose (Loss to Hull City, Aston Villa in EPL and Man U in Champs League SF last year) are the only ones which we really deserved to lose. But apart from that Arsenal have been fantastic joy to watch on the field. We have also been shrewd and most economical in the transfer market by capturing likes of Nasri, Arshavin & Vermaelen.

The success is coming to Emirates Stadium in form of trophies and growing public adulation in May 2010.

May Arshavin's words come true. In Wenger we trust.
Anfield's day of destiny 2:38pm on 23 Oct 2009 I just have a gut feeling that United will lose at Anfield. There's no room for complacency for United and L'pool have everything to play for, so its going to be see-saw kind of a game. Actually all thar Liverpool have to do is keep the possession of the football and play some good firm passes to the frontline. Liverpool should go for 4-4-2 and no other system of play.
Two worlds collide at Arsenal AGM 07:48am on 23 Oct 2009 Great article. The "Arsenalisation" of the football club is under way in a big way. It is evident on all home games and also posters being put inside the stadium. It gives me a huge pride to be a part of this Arsenal culture. Over the timeline of last 60-70 years, of course we have gone a lot of change in the management heirarchy, shareholders.. But one thing that is commonly linked to all the changes is - working together to betterment of Arsenal Football.

The comment by Usmanov is simply superb!!! How true is it that Wenger has built success and it is just round the corner.

I disagree. Only Man U & Chelsea have lost just 1 game unexpectedly (Burnley & Wigan respectively)

Arsenal have lost twice & unluckily away to Man Utd (Champions) and Man C(Most Hyped & Team on the Rise)

Aston Villa is a good team and can be dangerous on their day and could beat any of the top teams in Europe if the system they play clicks with all players.

I would rather say Liverpool have had a dismal start to the season and just accept it.
