The future of cinema: This Is It 08:59am on 07 Nov 2009 oh yeah, one major thing i have against 3d films, aside from having to wear headache glasses (and incidently, what are people who already wear regular glasses supposed to do?), but when they're released on dvd they have to use that stupid red and green type of 3d and that sucks.

my second point is that i totally disagree with your change of heart, you say that it keeps the 'real' cinema afloat, but people said that computer animated cartoons could coexist with stop motion and hand drawn cartoons, but if you take a look it's now considered a real treat or novelty to see the, now archaic, animation styles. sorry to quote rorschach from watchmen, but one must 'never comprimise, even in the face of armageddon'.

The Revisitations of Doctor Kermode 11:06pm on 14 Oct 2009 the first film that came to mind was a bout de souffle, which i remember watching at school and feeling like it was boring and everything took too long and the music was repetitive etc. etc., and then when i went back to it i loved it, and thinking about it has made me want to dig out the dvd and watch it again.

what i find is that i tend to overhype the negatives of a film that i didn't like, and so when i revisit it, they're not so bad, and that allows me to pay closer attention to what's actually happening.

i also felt the same about diary of the dead, where the first time round i was so distracted by the american youths and the guy with a bow and arrow, that i totally missed out on all the wit and bleakness of it.
When paying higher taxes really pays off 7:13pm on 08 Oct 2009 the "it looks like total crap to me" line made me laugh out loud.

changing the subject, you were shown on charlie brooker's 'gameswipe' saying something along the lines of 'i hate videogames, i've never played one and i never want to play one'. i understand your views on film adaptations on videogames, although i still think it's possible to make a good videogame film, for instance i can't imagine guillermo del toro doing a bad job of the halo film, which he considered doing. however, can you honestly defend the position of hating something you've never ever tried?

A Night at the Movies with the Doc! 00:39am on 27 Aug 2009 you appear to have intensified your opinions on inglourious basterds, when you reviewed it, you said that the set pieces were good but the film as a whole lacked discipline, but now you're implying that the whole film bored you. you're doing that escelation thing where you're fighting for one side of the arguement, and so in order to counteract the opposing arguement, you make yours more extreme than your true feelings. you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself.
