England cannot replace Rooney 01:55am on 14 Oct 2009 As an Australian I would love so very much that we are grouped together. PLEASE let us be grouped together... Nothing would be more satisfying than knocking England off in a sport that you love so very much and to be honest it's a sport Australians couldn't really give a stuff about. Don't think it won't happen! Australian sportsmen have one thing that most others ESPECIALLY Englishmen struggle to grasp... A winning Attitude.
Getting away with it 11:21pm on 12 Jul 2009 The only reason the Australians may be a little disappointed is because they now know that the 5-0 whitewash is out of reach. The English might as well get the the physio and doctors to waste time from day 1, session 1 because that's all that's going to save them. Bring on Lords and bring on an Australian win of the toss... the match will be over by day 3.
Symonds out in the cold 09:30am on 25 May 2009 Symonds hadn't played good enough cricket to earn himself a spot... Simple as that. McDonald was always going to be picked. To be honest it shows a little ignorance of the current Australian team and the role McDonald has been playing if you disagree with it. The boy is doing his job brilliantly. The question really should be if Australia needs him to do that role if our other bowlers comeback strongly.

The Australian selections are going to be really interesting. How people play in the tour matches will be the true indication of what the side will be. So many bowling choices at the moment. I can't see McDonald being dropped. Hilfenhaus should be able to swing the ball a mile in English conditions but can't see him being picked. Siddle is outstanding and seems to get better and better with every session. Mitchell Johnson could quite easily be the man of the series if the English don't figure him out. Last but certainly not least you've got Lee and Clark... Only one of the two will be picked and it will come down to who bowls better in the tour matches. Lee had an unbelievable spell in a twenty20 match last week but needs more overs under his belt.

Hugely respected, much admired... but loved? 00:10am on 20 Jan 2009 As for being listed as number 10 of all time. It doesn't matter it's just a list... everyone in the cricketing Universe would have a different list it's just a matter of opinion. Tendulkar at 26 just sums it up really.
Hugely respected, much admired... but loved? 00:04am on 20 Jan 2009 I mentioned that he is a family man, loves and to cook and fish because of the obvious complete and utter ignorance of the mans actual character and who he really is as a person.

The man likes to win as do most Australians and if people can't handle the psychology of playing sport at the highest level then you shouldn't be there.
Hugely respected, much admired... but loved? 01:16am on 19 Jan 2009 Why would someone write such a negative article? Matthew Hayden is a family man, loves to cook and loves fishing with his mates.

Sour grapes from the English again? I mean your last captain was barely English. Cling to anything to make you feel better about being no good at physical activity. The word envious springs to mind when you read this article and all the other negative blogs.

Haydos was a brilliant cricketer and is a lovely man off the field. If your a big man like him or Graeme Smith you'd be a damn fool not to use it to your advantage and intimidate other sides. I'm sorry but professional sport is about trying to play at your utmost best and winning is it not? It's not about rainbows and teletubbies. With such a weak attitude no wonder Australia has dominated for the last twenty years.

The funny thing is there's a production line of players like Matty Hayden coming through in Australia, to many to choose from really so I'm sure you'll all have someone else to sook about for smashing you all over the park in a few years. What a joke.

Haydos, congratulations on a wonderful career you certainly achieved a lot in cricket far more than any Englishmen has in last 30 years. Bravo.
