Answering your questions about 5 live 4:13pm on 27 Nov 2009 Bacon is on the MediaGuardian podcast this week talking about his two favourite topics (twitter and The Thick Of It) and he mentioned he has got a three year contract for this new afternoon show so it seems like he is hear to stay.
Answering your questions about 5 live 1:11pm on 24 Nov 2009 When Rachel Burden stood in for Mayo a few weeks ago she was much better than what I'm listening to now with Bacon. She sounded accomplished, knowledgeable and made the subjects interesting. However, I also think that Colin Murray and Phil Williams have been better stand-ins in this slot.

On the plus side, after Christmas I'll be able to give work my full attention in the afternoons - they will be no radio to distract me (apart from on Friday of course).
Weighing up Button's McLaren move 5:08pm on 18 Nov 2009 I've got a feeling that Button will be left in the dust of Hamilton once they are in the same car. He won't compare quite as badly as Kovalainen did against Hamilton but I'm prepared to bet he won't be that far off.

As for Kimi, if Ferrari are still paying him for doing nothing next year then why not take a sabbatical rather than opt for a pay cut and toil in the midfield for a season? It will be interesting to see if anyone takes him on for 2011 though.

May I also echo the comments about your predecessor Roger Mosley's excellent blog which he not only wrote articles for regularly, but also took the time to reply to comments.

I would like to ask you a question regarding FA Cup rights. Since Setanta went under, no one has picked up the rights to show certain games, and it is now that the stage were the FA are streaming the matches that would have been televised on their website. Surely these must be available at knock-down prices for the BBC to pick up and add to their frankly sparse portfolio of live domestic football.

Can't the BBC purchase right, even one game at a time, matches like Norwich vs. Carlisle/Morcombe to show on the BBC2 or even the red button, saving me the hassle of trying to watch my team on a laptop?

Top Gear on BBC HD from November 15th 1:43pm on 26 Oct 2009 Looking at the BBC HD schedules for the weekend it looks as though the race in Abu Dhabi is not going to be shown in HD. I definitely read in last month's F1 Racing magazine that an HD feed would be available as a trial for this race.
Changes to BBC Sport on the red button 3:26pm on 24 Oct 2009 We know from the feedback we get that HD is increasingly popular with sports fans and this development will mean that even more viewers get to watch BBC Sport's big events in the best possible quality.

Your commitment to HD doesn't seem to extend to some of the championship matches you've won the right to this season - like tonight's for example.

That's unecessarily harsh. I think BBC HD is a brilliant channel (as anyone who saw Life on Monday night will surely agree), but when asking a simple question about whether one event (Abu Dhabi F1 race) will be broadcast on the channel is constantly ignored/not read, the words 'talking', 'brick' and 'wall' do come to mind.
