EPISODE SIX NOW ONLINE 2:48pm on 01 Mar 2009 Ditto thanks to artisticwolfgrrl and riku45 re: Nina's scratches being from George(!) I completely missed that they actually connected while George was transforming. Sorry--I couldn't use full-screen to watch the preview and it was a dark, fast-cut scene. Plus, honestly, I was watching between my fingers(!)

In addition, there was so much speculation in earlier blogs about Nina's fluffy kitten potential, that I just paired the scratches with her (pre-existing) burn scars. Thinking in bed last night, I was positing all sorts of reasons why Nina wouldn't transform when George did (didn't she make some comment in an earlier episode about "her time of the month"? I was developing a crackpot theory that female werewolves might transform according to their own monthly cycles whereas, lacking that biology, male werewolves were linked to the lunar cycle), but this is a much more loaded development. Interesting that Season 2 (hurrah--thank you, BBC) will start with George in roughly the same place that Mitchell was (with Lauren) at the start of the series . . . I guess for that reason, too, I also hope the vicar returns in Season 2. George's spirituality is really going to take a hit, and the vicar offers a great sounding board (plus another ally against the "bad men").

Thanks for a great episode for Russell and Lenora--both were able to show a huge range this time. Russell's performance at the end of the lyco-bashing flashback was especially grand. I saw Russell as Tintin at the National Theatre three years ago, so was able to see some of his acting chops live and in action; I have to say that Russell's still my number one reason for tuning in (Lenora and Aidan being a close second, and this web community a third).
EPISODE SIX NOW ONLINE 07:40am on 01 Mar 2009 Now wait--if N, erm, Petunia is a fluffy kitten (this code is ridiculous fun--especially at 1:30 in the morning!), why didn't she change when G, erm, Gregory did? And why did she seem so freaked out by the whole dungeon scene? Actually, my theory--prompted by the bathtub in the arm scar reveal--is that N is a selkie--wouldn't a seal wife and a werewolf be an interesting pairing?
EPISODE FOUR NOW ONLINE 07:11am on 17 Feb 2009 Getting away from the darkness, did anyone wonder about George's little fashion show? I loved it, but it seemed familiar--then I remembered that there's a very similar bit in the recent movie HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU. Is this some kind of new post-modern male trope?
EPISODE FOUR NOW ONLINE 06:50am on 15 Feb 2009 Incredible, risk-taking episode! I loved the reflection on just who the real monsters are/can be. And the final twist really does a nice job of complicating Mitchell's character, doesn't it? Please, please somebody greenlight an additional complement of episodes--you've created an addict here!
EPISODE THREE: HAVE YOUR SAY 04:29am on 10 Feb 2009 So Annie now knows she was murdered--presumably that's put paid to her love for Owen holding her back. So what's left for her to resolve? Is it the need to avenge her murder? Or a need to rescue Janey Harris (which really would be a complication . . .)?

I, too, wondered about the album shopping scene and the casserole transport question. With Gilbert's cigs and Walkman, I assumed that those were part of his "persona"--or maybe he did die with a pack of cigs in his jacket and his Walkman blaring away in his ears (maybe he didn't hear oncoming traffic?) If the Greek gods were punished with regenerating wounds, perpetually rolling stones, etc, why not replenishing cig packets. Maybe Annie just used her power of suggestion on the bus to tell people they weren't seeing a floating casserole?

In regards to the photo ID issue--Mitchell has the run-in with Seth about "recruiting" from the power classes. Perhaps there's been some selective recruiting from the ranks of forgers and photorealistic artists, once the need for documentation in the modern world arose.

I was poking around some blogs about Bristol and BEING HUMAN and someone mentioned that the house location may have been a pub at one time. Looking at some of the photos, it's obvious that the squared-off corner would have been the main door. I think that's where Gilbert's door to "the beyond" is situated in the apartment--the geek in me likes that the former/possible door becomes another possible door.
EPISODE TWO: HAVE YOUR SAY 03:58am on 09 Feb 2009 Re: George's so-called amulet--isn't it a Star of David? George is Jewish in the pilot. The fact that a Star of David looks a lot like a pentacle throws up a nice red herring. (In the pilot, Mitchell holds onto George's necklace when he transforms--setting up that George has some issues reconciling his religion and his lycanthropy (and who wouldn't!). Or at the very least, the necklace is something that's precious to him--that he doesn't want to lose with the rest of his clothes when he transforms (back in the days when he didn't have a transformation strategy).
LAUNCH DATE ANNOUNCED 03:10am on 16 Jan 2009 I have to send kudos to the designer responsible for the new cast photo--the "full moon" lantern shade behind Russell is brilliant!

Whilst I share everyone's excitement about the series start, I'm stuck in the U.S.--caught the pilot and the prequels on YouTube. Not sure if BBC3 plays on any satellite channels (but I don't have satellite anyway). At any rate, big fan of Russell's and lookig forward to seeing the series, even if I have to wait for a DVD release!
