Australia in a spin? 1:08pm on 29 Jun 2009 For a "First Class" or "Test" bowler to take 2 years to perfect a doosra is ridiculous... if its taking so long dont bother and dont play. If I was the Australia selector I would much rather North, White, Clarke and Katich to bowl 20 overs in an innings and try and buy a wicket rather than Hauritz. He has no variation, no delivery that could surprise the batsman and doesn't turn it enough; so no chance at Test level for me.
By the looks of things, The Aussies seem to have much more selection issues compared to England who's team pretty much picks itself

I agree with nearly all of the selctions but maybe Vickery is still a little too hot headed and Simon Shaw's current form and dedication to the cause could have been useful on the bench.

English Lions on the wane? 12:52pm on 03 Mar 2009 I would be pretty happy with that squad with Geechs took them to SA. The only area of concern for me is just simply who we are playing against!
South Africa have some absolute giants in the forwards and proper speed merchants out wide... they are almost guarunteed to rip us apart.
I think players like Armitage, Wyn Jones and Lewsey could become important as versatile players as people are certain to get injured. Would be nice to see a risk taken with Cipo or Jonny as theres no point playing someone in the mid week team like Jones who is just boring and loses control of games easily

In the third Test between Australia and South Africa Graeme Smith broke his hand in the first innings but returned to bat in the second to conclude a tremendously exciting finish. In this instance, was Graeme Smith the most over-qualified number 11?
