Yet it's apparently ok to wheel out schoolkids to wave flags whenever a member of that totally anachronistic waste of taxpayers money - the Royal Family - comes to town. A particularly insidious and distateful example of the Brit establishment's political paedophilia if you ask me...

The Welsh Assembly represents us - the English monarchy doesn't. If we're going to have a vote on getting rid of anything, let's have a vote on getting rid of these unelected parasites...
Follow the leader 3:57pm on 18 Oct 2009 Let's face it. Carwyn Jones is a creepy man. Direct confrontation is totally alien to his nature (I say this on the basis of personal experience). I'm not a member of the Labour Party but I think Edwina Hart would be a much better bet, a woman who will stand up to the control-freaks in London - which is probably why the MPs are not supporting her.

Also are we going to get a post on Sir Emyr Jones's commments re. the upcoming All Wales Convention report? I'm really looking forward to it and I have no doubt that it'll reflect the will of the majority...

Hmmm. Sounds suspiciously like Tory policy to me. Maybe you didn't see the comments of Denbighshire chief honcho Mohammed Mehmet on Week in Week Out last night. If Welsh education is "50 years behind England" then it's ultimately down to long-term mismanagement from Westminster by both Labour and Tories, and the fact that their mismanagement has made us a poorer country.

It's always useful to have a new face in Wales who can objectively comment on the reality of our situation...
Touching a nerve 1:42pm on 19 May 2009 The fact that Conservative candidates are being parachuted into this country is symptomatic of the wider problem of the stagnant two-party machine politics emanating from the London cesspit. It's notable that one of the Labour MPs who was caught out "flipping" was originally from London and had obviously been parachuted into a safe Labour seat further north.

These people are careerists, pure and simple,they are not in it for the love of it, to serve the people, they are in it because they know a cushty little number when they see it. And thanks to the Telegraph (never thought I'd hear myself say it) we now know just how cushty it is.

The Westminster Parliament is a nest of institutionalised corruption - a kleptocracy where theft is legal because it's made legal by the people who write the laws and pass them - our so-called elected representatives. Let's get rid of them and have a proper Parliament in Wales with real power - the UK Parliament is now a discredited and morally bankrupt institution. The rot is now there for all to see!

Yes, of course they're perfectly entitled to have their say. I wonder which view will carry more weight with the Convention though?

And that would be the public purse that we the Welsh taxpayers contribute to. We voted for it, and we pay for it. Simple.

As opposed to the hundreds of thousands of working people, many of whom are now suffering and being laid off due to the incompetence and Thatcherite deregulation policies of the Westminster government.

Can I help you madam? 02:13am on 07 Apr 2009 It shouldn't really surprise us that the CBI have come out against further powers. At the end of the day they're little more than a Tory front.

They speak for the bosses, and not the people. It's no co-incidence that the people who have traditionally shown greatest support for more devolution in Wales have tended to be the working classes. The one group who have traditionally lost out under Tory rule...
'Vigilante retribution' 3:47pm on 25 Mar 2009 The only criminal in this is Sir Fred Goodwin. People talk about the law as though it's there for us - it's not. It's there to protect the wealthy and the propertied classes and to legalise and legitimise immoral transfers of wealth. People are just naive.

The current tranche of bailouts have to amount to one of the biggest acts of legalised theft in modern political history.

People talk about individuals' safety. How much of the public money that has gone into the pockets of parasites like this could have gone towards the health service and saving and protecting lives in the NHS? It's a disgrace.

The government hasn't undermined the rule of law - it's just exposed in it's desperation the reality - that the law is only really there for the benefit of a tiny, privelaged minority. The public have simply started to recognise this fact and act accordingly...

Really? Then what was the Richard Commission, a proto-Convention which consulted widely with the Welsh Public and civil society, and concluded on this basis that what the public wanted was a Scottish-style parliament. A fact which is continually backed up with regular opinion polls, year after year after year...

He obviously hasn't noticed that people are being evicted and having their homes reposessed because of the deregulatory crisis caused by successive Tory and Labour governments in London. Unionist dogma comes above social justice considerations every time.

What worries me is that the real flaw is the Government of Wales Act 2006 itself, of which the LCO system is just a consequence. Hain and Dafydd Elis Thomas were the Architects of this dog's dinner and the blame should be laid at their door.

Paul Murphy is calling for the Welsh public to be "galvanised" into debating the issue. Maybe he hasn't noticed that the public have been debating the issue for the last 40 years! We don't need the sanction of Labour dinosaurs to debate our own language.

Note that he is not calling for the public to be "galvanised" into debating the wider issue - lawmaking powers for the Welsh Assembly.

And this is where we come to the nub of what the LCO system is really about. It's about "legislative trench warfare" waged by the Unionist Diehards in the New Tory Party.

Bog pro-devolutionists down in a debate about legal minutiae when we should be looking at a system which addresses a whole range of issues, of which the Welsh language is just one part.

This is Labour at their most devious and slimy. Playing games with the Welsh electorate while our economy burns.
