Seeing that dpearce011 is making suggestions of things you could talk about what I'd really love is for you to make a list of your top films, maybe even as a book. As a member of a dvd postal service I regularly have to add film to my list so that I get my money's worth. For example when you review the Jacket you mentioned Jacob's Ladder as an earlier better film and I really really enjoyed it. A list of 'must see' films would be wonderful.

This Week's Top 5 9:55pm on 06 Jan 2009 I would love to watch Changeling right now, Angelina Jolie in her Girl Interrupted mode is my favourite actress. It's due here on the 12th of February which is an example of the irritating release dates of Oscar promising films here. It's impossible to watch the Best Picture noms in New Zealand before the Awards which takes all the fun our of guessing what's going to win.
Annual Report: The Best of 2008, a Fine Vintage 9:19pm on 06 Jan 2009 Of Time and the City has still not come out here in New Zealand which is really really annoying. However it hasn't come out in the US or France yet, dates are planned, so perhaps there is hope it will come out here.

Do you count Sweeney Todd as a 2008 film? Technically its a 2007 film in the US because it came out on the 21st of December. The Oscar rule year is 1 Jan - 31 Dec so it was eligible for last Oscars and won best art direction. Is it in or out for the coming Kermode Awards?
The Boxing Day Movie: This Year it's Australia 9:11pm on 06 Jan 2009 Upon watching this video I went and had a look at a Boxing Day news release by Val Morgan, the big cinema advertiser here in New Zealand. The release encouraged advertisers to buy as space to cash in to "one of the biggest weeks of the year for the New Zealand Box Office"

I really liked two comments they made on films released on Boxing Day in New Zealand.

Twilight -"intoxicating blend of breathy romance and mild horror which will be must-see viewing for teenage girls."

Frost/Nixon - "For interested advertisors this is a chance to reach a quality audience as typical arthouse moviegoers are more likely than the general population to be highly educated, affluent, professional, and light commercial TV viewers."
Annual Report: The Worst, Classics of Their Kind 9:00pm on 06 Jan 2009 Only When the Last Tree Has Died and the Last River Has Been Poisoned and the Last Fish has Been Caught, Will Sex and the City Realize that you can't eat $750 shoes or a $1500 handbag.
