Tax land not property
Abolish IHT - your property is not the state's to confiscate
All other taxes indirect - user pays
We need rich people to live here - they spend here and provide jobs
Abolish corporation tax - we need companies to come here not leave
With sound money the bankers would not be able to make the fake profits that they are bonused on
Make it illegal for governments to borrow - if that means they spend less, rather than sell your children into debt servitude, then so be it.

Three-way on the MPC 9:44pm on 20 Nov 2009 The only way to beat the game is not to play. All my wealth is in physical gold and silver. All the fiat currency that I earn, that I do not need for immediate consumption is invested there every month. I do not even care if the "value" of this goes down in the short term - the reality is that fiat currency will always trend towards zero. This is the long game. Short on the Dow? - who cares. This is peoples' real lives we are talking about. Assets strippers - greed is good? The separation of ownership and control is one of the biggest factors in the destruction of our nation.

We need a written constitution. America had one (boy those founding fathers knew what we have forgotten) but turned its back on it. "a piece of paper" according to George W Bush. We have to limit the power of goverment as our only guard against tyranny.

Global warming - the greatest and boldest scam yet. Unproven science followed by widespread fear, carbon taxes and intrusion into your private life - energy police anyone?

If you think that the value of houses has held up look at the average house price tracked against the price of an ounce of gold. All paper transactions are lies. People are losing all they have because of identations on a computer hard drive.

Liberty is the way forward, government only serves itself and its financial masters. End the income tax - the government does not own me or my labour. If I wish to help my friends, family, neighbours that is my business, I will never accept that anyone has a claim on my wealth, nor that I ever have a claim on theirs. Confiscation and the mob rule of envy are a tool of government.

As I see BA workers looking to strike themselves into oblivion I am reminded of the end of "Atlas shrugged" as the lights started to go out.

Legalise drugs - the government does not own my body - therefore it cannot legislate for what I do with it. Prohibition never works.

End wars that we are involved in / started. We have no right to nation build, or impose our "democracy" on others. We are in debt and we are spending billions murdering others. Then we wonder why they hate us.

Time to wake up. My liberty does not have a price. I care not for tax credits, cash for clunkers, state sponsored do goodism, a "health" "service" that kills people and leaves others feeling more like a burden than a customer. Cash for titles, government bailouts, 42 days imprisonment without trial or reason, a police force that brutalises peaceful protesters.

End any real power of the royal family - nobody's future should be set from birth. Let them be self sufficient.

End the link between church and state. Let each man be responsible for his own beliefs and actions. We have become a nation that has a long list of rights and an entitlement complex.

Do we really believe that we cannot live without the yoke of government, that we cannot support ourselves and each other? That we need the state to teach our children what they "need" to know. Not to think. Never think. No good will ever come from it.
Three-way on the MPC 4:29pm on 19 Nov 2009 # 97 - following your logic the governement should support every business and bail everybody out. They would need to take 100% of our earnings and provide everything for us. I remember a little Russian experiment like this. Didn't turn out too well as I understand.

The goverment should not be engaged in price fixing or market rigging. Ruining perfectly reasonable cars so people can get into more debt to buy a car they shouldn't really be buying is criminal. Green credentials - don't make me laugh.

Sellers do not always have the upper hand - what about a second hand car dealer paying a granny far less for her car than she might have got on ebay? I wonder whether you work in the private sector at all. As for CDOs this is an example of fraud, which happens in all market free or not. Perfect markets are not the same as free markets and if you reply saying that they are I won't bother debating it any more.

This does not refute my point that you can have a free market that is not perfect. Someone can believe that they are getting more or the same as they giving up, but this may not actually be the case.

You are getting "free market" mixed up with "perfect market" - sort it out man.
