Holyfield shows Haye the way 2:08pm on 03 Nov 2009 I know haye is a British fighter and he has got a lot of talent and as a Brit i should support him whole heartedly!! I know all this.....but i can't help but hope that Valuev absolutely destroys him!! Post fight interviews would be much more interesting if Haye had been embarrassed by the big man.

Having said that from a boxing point of view i would love to see Haye win. He has the talent to do so but i do think he will get knocked down at some point in the fight.
The potential line ups for future fights are so much more interesting with Haye in them than without.
Capello's World Cup contenders 11:14am on 15 Oct 2009 Judging by the amount of responses, this is a fairly hot topic!! Of course it is!! Its the national team and we are a passionate nation. In fact it is great to see that we have not lost any passion for our football and our country.

I like many others have my opinions on the squad selection and naturally i know better the Fabio Capello!! Oh no.....wait......i don't!!
So with that in mind, here is me very fallible opinion.

On the basis that he has a fantastic season i would like to see Ben Foster in Goal. I do however agree that he might not be ready just yet.
In Gareth Barry, Stephen Gerard and Frank Lampard we have 3 identical central midfielders. Credit to Capello he has found a way of playing Gerard and Lampard together but Barry is just excess and unnecessary. He is continually being played out of position. The man is an attacking midfielder.
Based on a good season and fitness i would take Carrick and Hargreaves. Carrick's passing is phenomenal and is something that Gerard and Lamps would thrive on as proved at Liverpool with Alonso and Gerard. For the tougher, tighter matches you would play Hargreaves for a more combative defensive option.
I'd love to see Ashley Young and Joe cole as our left sided options but i fear it is probably too late for Young and Cole may well struggle with injury.
Now to the strikers. Rooney..Yes. No Brainer. After that well there is nothing set in stone. We have got potential in Heskey, Carlton Cole, Crouch, Defoe, Agbonlahor and Walcott. Yes i said it...Walcott. He has electric pace and can finish with the same ease as Thiery Henry. He also seems to always score when he plays up front. For me..this option has to be tried.
Well thats all i'm gonna say. Mr Capello...if your listening...The choice is yours...no pressure!!
Burnley high on emotion 09:52am on 20 Aug 2009 What an amazing night. I was watching on TV with the Volume so loud it was like being in the stadium. I'm a London Based Burnley fan so my neighbours must of been wondering what all the noise was about.
Its so good to get a win under our belts and now we know we can beat Prem Clubs that will give us a massive confidence boost.
The belief within the squad was evident. Jenson saved the penalty but did not celebrate it at all. He just wanted to keep focussed on the task in hand. What a legend!!!

Oh.....to all you Other Big Prem Clubs.....Please don't poach Owen Coyle!!! We need him!!!!
Time to say goodbye 12:03pm on 19 Aug 2009 Refreshing to hear someone speak so positively of a country. It also highlights the negativity of our own! A little bit depressing yes...but not if it stirs us to change!
Can Burnley survive in the Premier League? 12:06pm on 13 Aug 2009 Frankly i am still scared out of my mind. I can't wait until the season starts but as a Burnley fan i am totally invested in the club and do NOT want to get relegated.
Logically i know that we should go down but i am blinded by raw passion for the club and believe that we could take some points out of our first 5 games.
Who really knows what will happen. I'm just hoping we play better than in pre-season!!
Khan fighting a losing battle? 12:10pm on 16 Jul 2009 The doubters and haters have good reason. In reality Khan has not fought anyone of real top quality bar barrera and even barrera was clearly not at his best. There is definatly still a huge amount of doubt over his potential which is going to be there for a few more fights after his shocking knockout to prescott.
However.....He has showed that he is growing into a technically excellent boxer. His speed is a massive strength and he is an extremely committed student by the accounts of Freddie Roach. All positive things that rationally we cannot ignore.
Of cause since when have sports fans been rational!!!!

I am a khan fan. I enjoy watching him box. He throws punches and entertains which is more than can be said for most of the other dross out there.
Burnley show the way forward 11:46pm on 25 May 2009 No.4.......Shut up about next season. We're still celebrating promotion and your already talking about relegation. How dull!!

I for one am completely elated at achieving promotion. I'm not certain i will be able to sleep tonight!!!
The whole nation seems to be talking about this tiny club that i have supported for so long!!! It blows my mind.
I'm sure we'll lose Owen Coyle at some point but not before he keeps us up!!!

Man i am way too excited about this game. The thought that we could be playing in the premiership next season makes me giddy!!!
It's gonna be a great game with a crazy atmosphere. It's great to see the fans wishing the other team well!! Football isn't all bad.

Warren gambling big with Khan 4:41pm on 13 Mar 2009 If i had sky i would pay for this! It may not be a title fight but looking at the empassioned responses on here it is clearly of great interst to a lot of people.

I think the general feeling is we want to support Khan but need a bit more convincing.

I personally think he is still mostly potential and after Barrera (which i think he'll win) he should take on a couple of the british names.
