Sony PlayStation 3 and the "yellow light of death" 03:00am on 18 Sep 2009 Is Iain Lee going to be a regular reporter for Watchdog? If so then was he a wise choice for this piece? If not then why was he drafted in to make this piece?

I'm sure you're aware that he recieves monies from Microsoft to promote their console, the XBox 360, which is a direct competitor to Sony's PS3. If that isn't a conflict of interests then I don't know what is. At best you've created a situation where your article is wide open to accusations of bias before it's even been read or watched. At worst, well I'm not sure where to begin, though I'd be surprised if your legal teams doormat wasn't one letter heavier than normal in the morning
Fixtures questions answered 04:28am on 18 Jun 2009 As far as police involvement goes, that hasn't happened yet, they get this list at the same time we do. Where a Force has to cover two or three teams at a time, then they are amongst the "paired clubs" that don't play at home the same weekend. However there is now a period where external forces can ask that games be played in midweek for the reasons you state. the matches must be within the weekend, however the weekend now runs from thursday to tuesday
What do you think of the fixtures list? 3:28pm on 17 Jun 2009 In response to your resident Bournemouth fan, being as I now live in Derby I'm loving the fixture list, in 2010 all but one away match are within spitting distance, especially the last two. Anyway we'll be celebrating promotion long before those trips so relax
Capello close to World Cup goal 12:08pm on 11 Jun 2009 I'm on the fence about small nations in the qualifiers. I'd never contemplated the idea of pre qualifying before last night, but p'raps it's worth looking at the IIHF World Cup system. Ice Hockey has a world cup every year barring Winter Olympics, they use a divional system which includes promotion and relegation. This does mean that certain countries are unlikely to not qualify for the tournament proper, however something similar in Europe may be a good idea. Certainly far more accurate than the current world rankings system. Teams like the Faroes, Andorra, San Marino, Kazahkstan need to be playing each other more often to improve and build confidence and awareness. Fans like to see their team win occasionally. As far as TV rights go, I would have thought watching competetive football would be more attractive than endless drubbings
Triumph over adversity 3:22pm on 28 Apr 2009 A great job done by guys who have the club in their hearts. A shame the boardroom has not got the same level of love for the place, and a disgrace that the shyster is holding out for a fee for the club when he's not even paid for it yet. Yet another owner with no investment who thinks they can rob our club and enrich themselves

Clubs who go into admin do need to be punished, but being punished twice because Leeds' disgraceful behaviour made the FL feel the need to change the rules. Leeds could easily have been punished for bringing the game into disrepute instead of amending the letter of the law because they disregarded the spirit of the law. We took a punishment on the chin last year and came to within a whisker of staying up

If the FL are going to be this strict with teams, then they also have a duty to vet those who step into boardrooms bearing promised gifts which never materialise. Also the pyramid is broken, the cash in the game needs redistributing properly throughout the whole system. Had just the debt that Man Utd currently bear been split amongst League 1 and 2 clubs none of them would be struggling the way they are, wow, that was a rant, didn't realise I was that angry

Any team can beat any other given a little luck, a lot of heart and a smattering of ability. This is the beauty of a cup competition. Until the man in black blows, you've a chance, no matter who you're drawn against

This was one of the reasons I was very pro-Platini when he ran for the presidency, he was all about taking the European Cup back to a proper cup competition. Group phases massively favour the richer teams with the bigger squads, but in a true cup competition you shouldn't be allowed to relax as you've now qualified

Is it my imagination or did clubs used to get fined for putting out understrength sides, regardless of the competition, why doesn't that happen anymore?
The perils of Football League management 3:14pm on 02 Jan 2009 I'd be happy with decent footy and poor results, not sure how I'd feel about going down. I still think of us as a third tier club. Maybe going down would mean a barnstorming year and we could go up twice, but at the same time why shouldn't a second half the season like the last quarter of last season have the same morale boosting effect

The problems are confidence and commitment, you're right, Fletch in the changing room would certainly address those issues

You've actually shown none at all, enjoy your childish snipe. All clubs have a personality of sorts, something that their supporters feel an affinity with. If a player, manager or chairman doesn't recognise and accommodate this then they have to go.

At Bournemouth we've always played good, attractive football. The brand of the game Quinn was playing was never going to be tolerated, even if he had the tactical nouse to make it work. Which he didn't

As far as even Arsene couldn't make a difference, that's just ridiculous, anyone who can get our players believing in themselves and playing to their strengths, ie on the ground, will start getting points on the board.

This lack of interest/knowledge about the lower leagues is one of the reasons they're in such a mess. The pyramid may be crumbling at the bottom right now and I for one think it's a crying shame.
