Weighing up Button's McLaren move 3:59pm on 18 Nov 2009 This move is a massive show of intent from Button, that demonstrates new found confidence as the world champion.

Despite his world title, most people would rate him behind Hamilton, Alonso and probably even Vettel amongst the current crop of drivers.

Were he to beat Hamilton in Hamilton's team, public opinion of him would undoubtedly rise, even if neither of them became world champion. Clearly Button believes he is capable of this or he wouldn't have made the move.

But it carries a massive risk, as if Hamilton were to consistently beat him, then it would show his title was more down to the car than the driver.

Review of the week 4:48pm on 02 Oct 2009 Made the trip up to St James' Park myself recently, like a lot of fans treated to a trip up there for the first time.

That hike is a bit of a mission, but cracking view of the Toon once you get up there.

My Singapore Grand Prix predictions 09:56am on 26 Sep 2009 Why all the Legard bashing? He is doing alright in a deceptively tricky job. He will improve the longer he does the job.

If you read what he says properly, he says "only once has he won two races in succession" - which would be Italy and China 2004.

As for his predictions, would love to see Button beat Barrichello, as I think he needs to win a couple of the remaining races to be a credible champion, but on recent form can't see it happening.

Do think Brawn is the team to beat, but surprised not see Sutil featuring more in people's predictions.

Ferguson faces huge task in Europe 2:15pm on 14 Sep 2009 All four English clubs will progress from the group's with such ease, that the Champions League isn't really worth watching until the knock-our rounds, although Barcelona v Inter Milan looks tasty.

Barcelona, as reigning champions, are rightly favourites, but retaining the trophy has proved very difficult in recent years and, with Real Madrid very poor defensively, it is the four English teams who will provide the sternest competition and I can't see a winner coming from outside these five sides.

The law of averages means Chelsea must win it soon, having come so close in recent years.

Adebayor deserves all he gets 12:36pm on 14 Sep 2009 Adebayor shouldn't have legged it the whole length of the pitch to celebrate, but plenty of other footballers have done more or less the same.

The Arsenal fans are responsible for their own behaviour and if one man sliding in front of them on his knees makes them that angry, they should seek help.

Adebayor was booked for his celebration, which, rightly or wrongly, is the correct punishment according to the laws of the game.

His kick on Van Persie seems to have been overlooked, but was definitely the worse crime of the two.

Shame this overlooked a great game and a pivotal moment in Manchester City's emergence as a potential top four side.

Adebayor madness mars Man City win 12:14pm on 14 Sep 2009 Adebayor was booked by Mark Clattenberg for his goal celebration, which is the correct punishment in the rules of the game.

If the FA were to punish him further, because of his celebration, it would undermine Clattenberg and contradict the sport's rules.

But kicking Van Persie was unacceptable and seemed part of a wider plan to intimidate the Arsenal players and supporters - four game ban minimum.

Shame that this has overlooked a brilliant game and possibly a seminal moment for Manchester City and the Premier League.

Could Ferrari's Finn make a shock return to McLaren? 8:36pm on 23 Aug 2009 Why is Rosberg neccesarily going to be slower than Hamilton if they become teammates at McLaren?

On his gridwalk Brundle told Rosberg he was possibly his driver of the season and, looking at the results, you'd have to agree that that is a convincing argument.

Either way he will definitely be quicker than Kovalainen.

The heat, the Ashes, the petrol and sweat 8:30pm on 23 Aug 2009 Never accept a shower from Ted Kravitz - sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Great coverage as usual from the BBC - highlights were Eddie Jordan accosting Michael Schumacher and Martin Brundle jumping ahead of the Italian lady with Sebastien Vettel on the gridwalk.

Big question now is was this race a hot weather one-off or will Brawn and Red Bull revert back to their Silverstone, Nurburgring, Hungaroring pace in Spa?
