Public servants on $20m a year 10:15am on 03 Dec 2009 i have been unemployed for 9 mths now , have a income of 1000 pounds per month made up of loan insurance, housing benifit and jsa.when the loan insurance runs out i now have absolutely no qualms whatsoever of defaulting on the remainder of the debt if i am unable to find employment as the government will pick up the losses.

Appetite for fat cat taxes? 10:49am on 01 Dec 2009 after being given a 10,000 k(non returnable) grant to move out of a council property in the mid 90s joined the private mortgage sector for ten years when due to divorce sold for a profit of 90k tax free which i got a small percentage ,now thanks to unemployment back to where i started and being paid 280 pounds a month housing benifit a mind boggling system we have but all one can do is use the system whether a rich non dom or as 148 would say dole scrounger which i find quite offensive after 30 years of employment but never mind good luck to you all the winners and the losers.

Survival but at what price? 07:49am on 06 Jun 2009 this country is in one hell of a mess politically . in my thirty years of voting i have seen the quality of politicians diminish alarmingly. the vast majority now have no idea or the understanding of work or business life and if the system limps along as it is then the future is frightenining. my own political veiws range from extreme right wing on some issues to extreme left wing on others so i have no allegance to one party. we i believe must have some sought of PR introduced to ensure real democracy and please lets have politicians who are sincere and do not see it as a career.
Why tax the rich? 06:58am on 25 Apr 2009 been out of work for 8 weeks now penny less living on 64 pounds per week jsa.car goes next month cant afford the tax and insurance this is the real world ,iwill survive you always do but right now i would love to be on 150000 per year even if i was paying 70% tax .
Should the banks back Britain? 10:45am on 07 Apr 2009 the banks may have survived the sub prime 'hit' whether they can survive the defaults in mortgages,credit cards and personal loans that will come there way in the next two years i doubt very much.millions of people were led into the biggest ponzi scheme going making them believe they were no longer decent working class people but middle class and the world was there oyster borrowing on the ridiculous rise in asset prices and living a great lifestyle.the dream is very quickly beoming a nightmare for many of us who took part in it and we must take our share of responsibility for it but the answer is certainly not more credit [sorry debt ] we have to get back to living within our means or we will destroy the lives of our children and grand children and that is where we should concentrate our efforts.

watch the bankruptcy figures soar when the debt relief orders come into force on monday 6th april, qualification is undisclosed debt of under 15000k,less than 300 pounds in assets and no more than 50 pounds per week in dispsable income . four weeks ago i was in a job earning 27000k a year enoying life a week in france in jan weekend watching the rugby in dublin then bang made redundant. no package for me only been there 23 months income dropped from 1800 to 240 in the month. i now qualify for a DRO cant believe my fall has been so quick so beware bankers unsecured lending is the next sub-prime.
